" Finally dude! We get to leave this hell hole all weekend! " Larry said to the blue haired boy as they walked to the door. " I know right! " said the shorter boy, then he felt his phone vibrate meaning he got a text. It was from his dad. It read " Sal, sorry buddy but I'm running a little late. I will be there to pick you up in about ten minutes. " well shit. " you ok Sal? " Larry asked. " oh, yea I'm fine Larry. My dad just texted me saying he would be about ten minutes late to pick me up. " " really? Damn that sucks. " Said the taller male. " yea it does. But as soon as I get home we can hang out in the tree house. K? " " definitely dude! See you soon! " said Larry. " alright, see ya " Sal was a bit surprised that Larry didn't offer to take Sal home, considering the fact that they live in the same apartment complex. But Sal was so exited about the weekend that he just pushed the thought aside and walked closer to the door with the intention of sitting next to it when he got there. Normally the weekend wouldn't be a big deal to everyone else. It's only two days after all. But when school is filled with homework, over working teachers, and Travis. It's hell. " Hey! Wait up faggot! " said Travis running after Sal as if his life depended on it. speak of the devil. " what are you doing here? School is over for the day idiot. " said the blonde boy " I could say the same to you. " said Sal. The words escaped his mouth before he was able to stop them. " oh really, you think your tough don't you? " Sal got nervous as he realized he just really pissed Travis off. And all he said was a few words. " you definitely aren't any tougher then me. Bible fucker. " Said the shorter boy. He didn't know what he was doing. Everything was happening all at the same time and it's as if Sals body was forcing him to stand up for himself for once. But unfortunately, before He could say anything else. Anything at all. He ended up getting a punch to the stomach. It felt like Travis had hit Sal right where his heart was and it was gonna give him a heart attack or make him pass out. But dying or passing out couldn't save him. Sal ended up falling to the ground, shaking and holding his stomach he tried to get back up. Travis did nothing to stop him. He thought there was no way Sal would be able to get up. But he did, and he tried to run. But he wasn't fast enough. Travis followed him and grabbed his arm, then he threw Sal against the wall. " why leaving so soon? " said Travis. Then he slightly snickered as he walked up to Sal once more. In that moment more questions went throw Sals head then he could process. Why was Travis here? When was Sals dad gonna get there? Since there was no one else around, and there probably wouldn't be anyone else around for a while. That gave Travis full consent to do what ever he wanted. And he was taking advantage of that. He grabbed Sal and was about to punch him. Then his face was slapped. It didn't hurt much, but Sal could practically see smoke coming out of Travises ears at this point. " I KNOW YOU DIDNT JUST DO THAT YOU FUCKER! I KNOW YOUR NOT THAT MUCH OF A DUMB SHIT RIGHT?! " " T-Travis I..I'm s- " before Sal could finish his sentence, he got a hit to the face. Travis has never hit him so hard, let alone in his face. Sal was so in shock that it took him until he felt his " face " a few seconds later to see if his mask had broken to figure out that...his mask...his mask...it's not on his face. Travis knocked it off. He didn't know what to do. There was to much emotion and not enough time or energy to process it. He felt like he needed to cry, scream, and punch Travis all at once. He felt like there where so many emotions coming up that he didnt know what to do. But he knew if he tried to process anything it would all end up in to much of one emotion to handle. He felt as if he was gonna explode if he doesn't figure out what to do with his emotions soon though. It took Travis a good few seconds to realize Sals mask was on the other side of the room and it was broken. The strap had broken from the mask being forcefully knocked of his face with a lot of strength and there was a huge crack on it from the impact. As soon as he did realize it. He just stood there. Not knowing what to say or what to do. He just stood there. One part of him wanted to apologize. One part of him wanted to say that Sal got what he deserved. And another part of him just wanted to run. But he didn't know what to do. Sal and Travis are very different in a lot of ways, Sal acted Caring. Travis acted aggressive. Sal was quite. Travis was loud. Sal would only hurt someone if he had to. Travis would hurt someone just for the sake of hurting them. But they did have one thing in common in that moment. The moment was short, but it was still a moment. They both didn't understand. They didn't understand what was going on. They didn't understand when this was going to end. They didn't understand what ether of them had just did. They didn't understand how to feel. And they where just waiting for one another to do something. But at the same time the thought of one another doing something made the hair stand up on both there necks. Sals Face was exposed. And all Travis could do was stare. All Sal could do was be stared at. Until Sals dad broke the silence. " hey Sal sorry I'm la-" those where the only words Sals dad could process as he walked threw the door before he saw his son with a bloody nose and no mask. Next to a boy who looked like he just saw a ghost, but at the same time had pain and sorryness in his eyes. But it was a pain only Sal could see. " Boys..what happened here..?" said Henry. " Mr. Fisher..I um..I.." Travis said in a panic. He then gave up trying to explain and just sighed. " Mr.Fisher..me and Sal got into a figh- " " oh, dad! I was running to the door cause I was excited for the weekend and I accidentally ran into the door! My nose was bleeding so I took off my prosthetic. Travis found me and he said he wanted help with my bloody nose. He was about to go get some tissues as soon as you walked in " Travis was in shock. Did Sal really just cover for him like that? He couldn't believe his eyes. " alright Sal well I have told you time and time again not to run in school. Not only is it against the rules but it's dangerous. I hope now you realize that. " " oh don't worry dad. I definitely learned my lesson. " Sal said trying to sound convincing. Travis just stood there. Still in awe that Sal had just stood up for Travis after he had punched Sal in the face. " well, we better get home Sal. And what's your friends name again? " asked Henry. " Travis. " Sal said in a voice as if to say " we aren't friends. " he didn't want his dad to think he was rude though. He just told his dad that Travis wanted to help him so responding with a "he's not my friend " wouldn't be a good idea. " ah, Travis. Well thank you Travis for trying to help Sal. " said Henry as he went to get Sals mask. " it's...no problem. " said Travis. " your prosthetic is broken Sal. But don't worry, I'll call the doctor when we get home. He will be able to get you a new one by tomorrow. " that filled Sal with relief. But as soon as the words " when we get home " came out of Henry's mouth it reminded Sal of how him and Larry are supposed to hang out when He gets home. Larry. Larry! Oh yeah Larry! Larry is probably so worried! Sal was supposed to be home a while ago, and once he sees that Sals prosthetic is broken he is gonna know something is up. But Sal was to shaken up by everything that had just happened in a matter of minutes to care about that. " I just want to relax. I need it." He said to himself as he laid his head back in the car and looked out the window.
