" he did what?! " " Larry. I know it sounds out of the ordinary. But I honestly think he is trying to change " said Sal. Trying to sound convincing. " No, no! Sal! He is tricking you! He has to be, he has been known as the school bully for years now, he wouldn't change over night like that! " Larry said with worry and a bit of frustration in his voice. " your right. He has been known as the school bully for years. Don't you think he's tired of being known that way by now? " Sal didn't want to offend Larry or make him any more upset then he already was. He knew Larry was just trying to look out for his best friend, but he could have handled it differently. " I-.. you know what. Fine. If that's how you feel then so be it. Guess u don't want my help. " and with that Larry turned around and started to walk towards the door. Larry was honestly hurt, he cares about Sal so much and of course was so worried. But he was also jealous. Sal and him were very close and Larry was scared Of Sal leaving him. Ever since the situation with his dad he had been terrified of being abandoned. It hurt him to know that his best friend of three years might replace him with the damn school bully. " Larry wait! " Larry stopped. " I'm sorry. I know you mean well, but I just think it would be good to at least give Travis another chance. Do you see where I'm coming from Lar..? " Larry turned around and looked at Sal. " I..I just want you to be happy.." those were the only words Larry had left in him. He couldn't say anything else without lashing out again or tearing up. " I know, and I know your worried about me. But trust me Larry, I'm gonna be fine. " Larry sighed " ok..I get it. Your right, maybe you should give Travis a...chance. " Larry was still a bit upset, but it wasn't enough to get to him that much. " thank you Lar. I promise, this is the right choice. " Larry still wasn't fully convinced. But he played along. " I gotta go Sal, I'll talk to you later. K? " " K. See you at school tomorrow Larry. " See yah. " and with that Larry walked out of Sals apartment. Sal still didn't think they had completely sorted things out but they could talk more about it later.

Sal approached Travis the next day at school and they ended up talking in the hallway. Turns out they have more in common then they thought. They both have some of the same interests and things like that. Everytime Larry would try to approach Sal that day he would be talking to Travis and Larry hated it. Larry thought that maybe Travis and Sal would talk once then act like they didn't know each other for the rest of the day. That's what Larry was praying would happen. But nope, it didn't. And it was worrying Larry. Once again, he lost his dad and it would kill him to lose his best friend to the school bully. On the way home Sal wouldn't stay off his phone for one second. Larry was silent the whole walk home until Sal looked at Larry for the first time all day. " you ok Larry? " " yea yea. I'm..I'm fine. Everything is just fine. " Larry replied. Frustrated. " you sure dude? You seem kinda. Off. " Larry sighed. Not wanting to go threw the trouble of thinking of a nice way to say " oh, well I'm just jealous as hell cause you've talked to the school bully today and since my dad left me that must mean u will leave me for a jerkish asshole. " so he just changed the subject. " you've been on your phone for a while. What video are you watching? " " oh. I'm not watching a video. I'm texting Travis." HE WAS WHAT?! He got Travises number?! What the hell?! " you got his number after knowing him for one day huh? " " I mean, yea. What. You jealous? " Sal said jokingly. Yea he was jealous. He was jealous and pissed off. But he couldn't do anything about it so he of course just said. " no no, just wondering. " not a Word was said after that. There was just dead silence. Sal thought nothing of it as he texted Travis. But there were thousands of thoughts going threw Larry's head. What did this mean? Was he actually being replaced? Did Sal have a crush on Travis? Did Travis have a crush on Sal? Oh god what if they both have crushes on each other?! Then what if they get together and Larry is left alone again?! Then they got to there apartments. As they were walking up to the building Sal was texting Travis while Larry was right next to him feeling as if he was gonna explode. There were so many thoughts going threw his head. And he didn't know what to do. He was just ready for this to all be over. " hey Larry can-" before Sal could finish his sentence Larry made A dash for his apartment as soon as the words escaped Sals lips. Larry couldn't say anything. He couldn't. He would yell or break down or scream or maybe even just go off about all the thoughts trapped in his mind. With no chance of escape. Larry ran to his room and fell into his bed as he let a few tears fall from his face. Not long after he heard someone walk into his room. He thought it was probably his mom there to ask what happened. " Larry? Are you ok..?" Oh no. It wasn't his mom. It was Sal.
