*Shawn's POV*
"We can go out on Saturday if your free?" I ask her hesitantly.
"I don't know. It's my first day and I'm already getting asked out. Can I give you an answer later?" she says looking down at the floor.
"Yeah, sure, take your time," I tell her reassuringly.
/ Class/
"....these are chemical reactions that occur between an acid and a base. Their importance becomes apparent ...." our teacher says in a monotoned voice. "For this next assignment, you will need to pick a partner and work with them on your own time," she intructs.
I immediatly look over at Arson to see if she wants to be partners. I nod to her and she nods back. Score!
/End of school/
When school was finished, I see Arson walk out of the building. "Arson wait up!" I call out to her. She doesn't hear me, so I walk fast trying to catch up to her. And can I tell you, she walks very fast. Her hair sways back and forth as she paces. She looks beautiful.
I can tell she's walking home...why doesn't she just take the bus? Arson walks up a set of stairs to an old looking house. The paint was chipped, the shingles on the roof were just about missing, and the screen door doesn't close all the way.
Is this her house? How can someone like her live in something like this? Who's that man yelling at her and telling her she's late? Late for what?
