*Bella's POV*

"I declare this house finished!" Shouted Dash.

Everyone cheered. Even I smiled. I had to hand it to him, the house looked good. It was made of strong wood. Flowers and vines decorated the exterior. Chris had planted an amazing garden in the backyard. I appreciated the gesture; Emily loved gardening and we could sell any fruits or berries in town.

"Well girls, all done. You're right to move in," said Dash.

"Thank you," Emily replied, smiling sweetly.

The way she looked at him made Dash blush. I frowned. She could do better than him.

I was glaring at Dash when I suddenly felt another body pressed against mine.

"No!" Shouted Sophie. "I'm not ready for you to go!"

"Get off me," I said, rather bluntly.

Sophie only tightened the hug. "I'll never let you go," she whispered creepily.

I rolled my eyes. I don't enjoy being touched. I tried to push her off, but it was no use.

"Sophie, let her go," said Dash.

Was he really trying to come to my rescue? Screw that. I can take care of myself. I rolled onto my back and kicked upwards, sending Sophie flying into Dash.

"That was fun! Do it again!" Screamed Sophie.

Dash groaned. "Soph, get off me."

Vaporeon jumped up and went to harass someone else. Dash stood and stretched. He walked over to me with a smile. He grinned and looked at the house with me.

"Happy? Now you won't have to see me every day," he joked.

I smiled. "That makes me very happy."

He nodded with a smile but didn't say anything for a while. When he did speak, I found it very annoying.

"You know, if you or Emily ever need anything, we're just down the road. You guys are family now."

"You're too nice. You're a creep."

"Your opinion means nothing to me."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Wow, nice."

"I try."

Huh, maybe he wasn't so bad after all.

"Thank you," I said.

He looked at me with a shocked expression. "Did you just?"

I glared at him. "Shut up. It was your imagination."

He stared for a moment before bursting out laughing. "I should've known. You being nice? Not possible."

He was joking. I knew that, but I still wanted to hit him. I belted him in the foreleg. He yelped and stumbled away from me.

"My point," he whined. "That really hurt. What level are you?"

I laughed. "You're a sook."

"Now I really wanna know."

"It's rude to ask a girl her level... but here's a hint. It's higher than yours."

"Wow, that was cold."

"Icy," I said with a smirk.

He laughed. I laughed too. It felt good to laugh. I suddenly stopped laughing and my face fell. Did I just flirt with him!? I mentally kicked myself. Me and him? Not happening. We could never. I don't like him. Besides... Emily...

Emily walked over. She had a huge smile on her face. I hadn't seen her this happy in a long time. It brought a small smile to my face.

"Dash, thank you so much."

"Ah, it was nothing. Besides, I couldn't have done it without Pearl's help."

"Speaking of which, where is she?" I asked.

"She had to take care of her shop today. She really wanted to be here though."

"We'll have to go thank her soon," Emily said to me.

I nodded in agreement.

Dash smiled. "Well if you wanna go, come find me. I can show you the way. For now, I'll leave you to get settled in though. Soph, let's go!"

"Coming!"

Emily waved as Dash and Sophie walked home. Sophie waved back, but Dash didn't even look.

Emily looked at me with a huge smile. "Shall we?"

"Lets."

I took a deep breath and pushed open the door to our new home. My jaw dropped.

"Wow," whispered Emily.

The house was a beautiful dark wood. It was furnished with fine tables and even had bookshelves built into the wall. Emily and I giggled. We raced through the house, looking at everything. Dash and Pearl had done a damn good job. This place was fantastic.

I met Emily back in the living room. Tears of joys pooled in the corner of her eyes. Laughing, I hugged her.

"Welcome home," I said.

She laughed and burst into tears. To think, this brand-new house was all ours. That Jolteon wasn't so bad after all.

Still hugging my sister, I looked over her shoulder and frowned. I take it back, that Jolteon is evil.

"Em, is that what I think it is?"

I broke the hug so Emily could see what I was looking at. Spotting it, her head tilted. She was obviously just as confused as I was.

"Is that a fireplace?" Asked Emily.

"You're a grass type. I'm an ice type. Living in a wooden house! Why do we need a fireplace?! Stupid Jolteon."

Emily smiled. "Be nice. Since we met him, he's been nothing but kind."

"Exactly. Nobody, I repeat nobody, is that nice."

"Apparently, he is."

I frowned. "You really like him?"

Emily blushed. "Not like... I don't mean," She paused and sighed, "He's the nicest Pokémon I've ever met, but no. I don't like him. Not in that way. To me, he feels more like a brother."

I just stared blankly at her for a moment, but then I laughed.

"What?" Emily asked me with a laugh of her own.

"Earlier, he called us... family. We've only known them a week. Do they really think of us... as family?"

"Maybe being family... isn't about... how long you've known someone. Maybe, being family... is something more?"

I laughed. "It's a nice thought, but what we do know of family?"

"Not much," Emily conceded.

I laughed, smiled and hugged her again. "I love you sis."

"I love you too."
