*Bella's POV*

We're sitting on a platform hidden amongst the treetops. The sun's shining down and he's kissing me. He's actually kissing me. Fireworks went off. I was dizzy and lightheaded. At least, that's what I wish I could say, but the truth is something else entirely.

I broke the kiss, pulling away and leaning back. I looked at the ground and tears dripped from my eyes.

"Bells?"

I raised my eyes and smiled sadly at him. "I hope you feel better."

With that I left, leaving him with an open-jaw.

I started down the stairs, but he called after me.

"Bella!"

I froze and waited.

"Thank you."

I didn't reply, just continued downwards. The orange leaves of Autumn danced in the trees and floated past on a light breeze. I smiled sadly. It was pretty.

I kept walking. I climbed through the window into Dash's room and passed through it. I left his room and exited the house; slowly returning home.

I pushed open the familiar door of my house. The house that Dash had built. I walked through the living room and into my bedroom. The room that Dash had designed. And I flopped onto my bed. The one he'd bought.

I lay my head on the pillow and looked out the window. Thoughts didn't run through my head, they just slowly danced by; taunting, teasing and torturing me.

He'd kissed me. He'd really kissed me. It didn't feel nice. It felt... empty. I sighed tiredly and stared out the window, wishing I could be swept away with those beautiful Autumn leaves. I'd been living on a high and now, I'm falling with the petals.

"Mum? Mum? Mum!"

"Huh?"

"Are you listening?" Whined the little Eevee beside me.

"Sorry Bambi. Go ahead. I'm listening."

"We were in music today and Mr. Kricketune said I sing really well!"

"That's awesome. Would you like to sing a little for me?"

"Yeah! But not now."

"Why not?"

"I'm still practicing."

"Okay then. Well, when you've practiced more, tell me and I'll listen."

"Okay!"

Bambi trotted ahead happily. I smiled at her, so young and carefree. I must admit, I'm a little jealous.

I sighed as we arrived at Dash's house. I had my paws crossed that he wouldn't come out. Sure, I have to face him eventually... just not today.

The door opened, and Dash stepped out, grinning.

"Dad!" Shouted Bambi as she ran forwards.

The little Eevee jumped and rammed him. He laughed and nuzzled her. I smiled and continued walking. Dash noticed me and sighed.

"Bambi, why don't you go inside? Chris made muffins."

"Muffins!"

Bambi ran inside the house and shut the door behind her. Dash looked at me.

"Hey."

"Hey," I replied.

"So... about yesterday."

"It's fine. We don't need to talk about it."

"Huh?"

"I understand. We can forget about it now."

"Forget?"

"It's for the best, trust me."

"What?"

"See ya later." I turned and started walking away.

Dash hurried after me. "Bells, what're you doing?"

I didn't answer; I just kept walking.

"Bells! Stop for a minute."

I kept ignoring him.

He ran in front of me and blocked my path.

"What's wrong? Why won't you talk to me!?"

"You don't get it!"

"Then tell me. Plain and simple."

"I like you Dash."

The world had been going so fast and then all at once everything stopped. It had just slipped out, and it was too late to take it back.

"What?" He whispered.

I sighed. "I like you Dash."

"I... don't..."

"You kissed me, but you didn't kiss me because you love me. You kissed me because you're lonely. You kissed me to feel something! Do you realise how much that hurts?"

I looked at the ground and started to cry. I couldn't think of anything else to say. I just stood there stupidly.

"Bella..."

"Forget it."

I ran away into the forest. I didn't look back, which is a shame: If I had, then I might've seen the words 'I love you' dying on his lips. But no, my mind was made up; to save myself from being hurt again, I would forget him.

Lying in the forest by a small lake, my tears caused ripples across the still water. I'm hurting... but I'll miss him. I'll miss the way things used to be. Who knows, maybe if I can forget about all this, then maybe it can be that way again. Oh, I hope so.
