Placing the three plates onto the table, I watched Rachel open the pizza boxes that had just arrived. The melted cheese and freshly cooked meat smells balanced each other out perfectly and wafted up our noses, I was starving. This would round about be the time where my mum would say something like, No Megan, you are not starving. The children in Africa are starving. This really bugs me, so when she's says it I just end up rolling my eyes and ignoring her comment.

"Oh my God, I'm starving!" Rachel grabbed a piece of her pepperoni pizza and a slice of garlic bread.

"No, Rachel. People in Africa are starving, you are just hungry." I said to her and she just laughed at me, and then threw herself down onto the couch next to me.

"Now don't go turning into your Mum on me, Megs." She said whilst laughing. I turned to the TV and flicked through the channels until I found New Girl. My back pocket vibrated instantly, as if it was just waiting for me to settle down before it gave me a notification. I glanced sideways at Rachel, she hadn't noticed, I slid my hand into my back pocket and took my phone out. Tilting the screen away from Rachel again, I unlocked it to see who the message was off.

Hey Meggy, wuu2? Xx

It was probably the simplest text that you could send to a girl, but it made me happy anyway. Just the fact that he was thinking about me and then texted me, it was cute. I typed quickly,

Nothing much, Rachel is round and were having pizza xx

Rachel must have heard me pressing the buttons on my Blackberry Curve because she turned to me, radiating her eyebrows.

"Who you texting, Megs?" A puzzled expression on her face, but I knew she already knew the answer to the question. I wasn't going to tell her that though.

"Erm nobody important, just my Mum." But of course, I actually wasn't texting my Mum, and the person I was texting was extremely important to me.

"Just you're mum, hmm OK." Every part of her questioned me, she almost always knew when I was lying, and doesn't usually let the topic slide when I am lying. My phone buzzed again and i glanced down at it quickly,

Oh so you've made up? That's great Meggy :) xx

I smiled at the message that had appeared on my phone screen. Yes, yes it is great. I just wish you where here and it was just you and me. That would be even better. I sighed to myself, like that was ever going to happen, all he thought of me as was a friend anyway. Deciding on something small to say, i typed,

Yeah, it is :) xx

If only he were here, if only he could know about how i felt. This was killing me inside, I couldn't tell Rach, not yet anyway, she would make fun of me. Besides, I don't want to risk getting hurt by either of them. Glancing back at Rachel, I saw that she was on her phone as well, with a sad expression on her face.

"What's up Rach?" I asked and shifted further over to her on the couch.

"Oh nothing. My mum just said she wants me back home now. I'm really sorry Megs but I've got to go, I'm really glad we're friends again though."

She smiled at me and shoved her last piece of pizza into her mouth, in the most un-lady like manor probably possible. Laughing, i jumped off the couch and bounded into the dining room for her coat. Picking it up, i realized it was still a bit damp from before. I glanced out the window, it seemed to have dried up now anyway, the sun was just about visible from behind the clouds, she wouldn't need to wear it now anyway. As I appeared back in the living room, with Rachel, she came over to me and gave me a big hug and squeezed me tightly.

"Thanks for forgiving me Megs, it means alot to me. I'll never say or do anything like that again, I promise." She gave me, what looked like a sincere, apologetic look.

"It's okay Rach." I said and squeezed her back before handing her coat to her.

Walking over to the front door, Rachel picked up her bag and swiftly through it over her shoulder.

"Thanks again, Megs."

"No problem." I said as she stepped out the front door. "I'll see you on Monday, in school then?" I glanced at her hopefully.

"Definitely." She said with a wink.

I smiled at her and she turned to walk away, I said one last goodbye and slowly closed the door behind me. After locking the front door, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and sank down onto the floor behind the door. At least now me and James could have some alone time texting.
