I stood outside my house, shivering at the bus stop whilst waiting for the bus. It was already fifteen minutes late and it was absolutley freezing, it was already bad enough I barely got any sleep whatsoever last night. James hadn't texted me at all after the argument last night, no matter how many times I'd check my phone in hope, there would be nothing. The harsh wind slashed at my face and my bare legs and I felt them trying to give in on me as I almsot got blown away, I stood my ground trying to use all my might. I looked down at my phone again, knowing there was really no point, but I did anyway, just because I have hope. Nothing. A single drizzle of rain landed on the front screen of my phone and ran down to the keypad. Great this was all I need, to top the late bus and the freezing weather off. Rain. Great. I muttered to myself as I dabbed quickly at the screen with my tie, trying to get the rain off. I glanced upwards again and saw the bus nearing towards me. Sticking my arm out rather abruptly I managed to catch the driver's attention before he drove past. I grabbed the ticket quickly from the dispenser and made my way over to the nearest window seat. I sat myself down, smoothing my skirt out beneath me as to not get any crinkles or creases in it. The windows of the bus where all fogged up and you could see the faint little outlines of the rain droplets on the outside of the window. I rubbed at the glass with the end of my sleeve to try and look out, to see if there was anything interesting. It was blatantly obvious there wasn't going to be anything though, I mean for God's sake, I'm on a bus. I sighed heavily and once again, fogged up the window with my breath so it was now unable to be seen through again. Reaching for my phone in my pocket, I pulled out my earphones aswell. I could hear to many cheerful people on this bus today, talking, laughing. I wasn't even in the slightest bit cheerful, I wasn't in the mood for this. Scrolling through my music on my phone, I plugged my earphones into my phone and settled for Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green Day. I placed my hair behind my ear, put my earphones into my ears and let the music take over my mind. I placed my head back on the seat and waited to arrive at the hell hole.

The first bell signalled that first break started now. Hauling my bag over my shoulder, I made my way to our year zone, the garden. The same garden where James is every day. Feeling my eyes start to sting, I took a deep breath and tried to concentrate on making my way through the bustling hallways.

"Hey Megs! Wait up!" A rather red in the face Rachel was barging her way towards me. I really couldn't be doing with explaining why I was down to her, she wouldn't understand. Pushing myself into a less crowded corner, I waited for her to catch up to me. As she came towards me, I could see her forehead sweating a bit, she'd just had PE. But of course, she was obviously in set 1, she was too fit not to be. Whereas I do not have any coordination whatsoever and am most certainly not fit enough to be in top set.
I sometimes wonder how we even managed to become best friends, but they do say opposites attract.
"What is it, Rachel?" I could tell she could sense the tinge of annoyance in my voice. Her eyebrows furrowed.
"What's up with you today? You're never this annoyed at me."
I could sense a whole lot of new questions about to arise. I felt as if i was about to snap at her. I didn't want to lose another friend within a day.
"Look, I just need to go to our zone. No questions asked. Are you coming or not?" A look of concern swept across her face and faded within an instant. She nodded quickly and scuttled along behind me through the crowded hallways again. I could see out of the corner of my eye that she was still trying to figure out what was wrong. I Decided to ignore it and pretend I hadn't noticed.
I came to a sudden stop as i arrived at the doors leading into the garden. I could see James in the corner of the zone laughing distantly with his best friend, Charlie. Yet another good looking boy but extremeley smart. Not my type though.
"Megs, are you okay?" I must look scared. I nodded confidently. Inhaling a deep breath and swallowing hard, i pushed open the doors and tried to walk down the path with as much I-Don't-Care attitude as possible. James abruptly stopped talking to Charlie as soon as he saw a glimpse of me coming. He seemed unnerved. Stepping from side to side, edging nervously around the zone. I watched his movements carefully but without making it too obvious. As he moved around, he glanced at me swiftly from time to time. He suddenly retreated back to Charlie and whispered something in his ear. I couldn't quite hear. James spun round almost immediately, startling me as he did so, he glared at me and practically ran off out of the garden. Charlie looked at me with the look of confusion on his face and then turned away. What had James said?
"Woah, Megan? What was that about, you know, with James? Is there something i should know?" I knew she had the right to be suspicous, i mean, I usually tell her everything. But i really couldn't explain this right now.
"No, i have no idea myself what just happened either." She shrugged, acknowledging my reply as well as accepting it. She believed me. For now.
My eyes began to sting again at the thought of last nights argument and about what had just happened. He hadn't even tried to apolagise for over reacting. The cold air prickled my face and tangled my hair behind me. I excused myself from Rachel and ran quickly for the girl's bathrooms.
