"I don't want to go on this trip mom." I grumbled as I got out of the car. We had just arrived to the school where all the buses would meet.

"It's going to be fine. You'll have fun." My mom said with an encouraging smile. I narrowed my eyes at her slightly before sighing and giving her a tight hug.

"I love you, sweetheart. Call me whenever you need me." She said while rubbing my back in a comforting manner. I nodded as I pulled away from her.

"Love you too."

I headed towards the crowd of loud teens. Half of them with a smile on their faces, and the others that looked like they would kill just to stay home.

I wasn't much of a social butterfly and I only had a few close friends. They meant more to me than having dozens of friends who don't give a shit about you.

"Hey (Y/n)!" I heard someone call my name. I turned around and saw Becca and Sam motioning me over to them. I lightly jogged over to them with a grin on my face.

"Hey guys." I said to Becca, as well as signing it for Sam.

"You ready for the trip? Because I sure as hell am not." Becca rolled her eyes. I nodded in agreement.

I wished I could just be at home in my bed while reading my favorite book. But no. Us seniors had to go on a field trip.

"Everyone's getting on the bus, I think we should follow them." Sam signed.

The three of us both walked together towards the bus. It was crowded because of how many friends wanted to be in the same bus with each other, so we had to make it work and fit our way in.

When we got inside the loud bus, there were only two seats left. Sam and Becca sat together and I sat behind them alone. They were pretty close, while I just stood there as a third-wheel in the friendship. Kinda sucked, kinda didn't.

I took out my book from my bag. There was nothing I could really do anyways. Becca and Sam were having their own conversation, and everyone else were in their own little worlds.
I opened the page that I was left on and began reading.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" A deep voice asked me. I looked up from my book and was met with hazel eyes. I nodded.

"Yeah, it's not taken." I smiled lightly. I quickly looked back down at my book as I felt him slide next to me. He was very tall, so he took up a lot of room in the seat. I moved a little closer to the window so it wouldn't be as awkward for him or me.

"What are you reading?" He asked. I could see him peering over me out of the corner of my eye. He smelled nice. He smelled masculine, yet sweet at the same time. Almost like honey.

"Its (y/f/b). I take it with me everywhere." I laughed slightly. I didn't want to seem too antisocial, so I tried to keep the conversation going. Or somewhat, at least. I looked up to see his reaction. I blushed as soon I saw that he was smiling down at me.

"You got good taste. That's actually one of my favorites too." He smirked. I saw he was holding a book as well. "I'm reading 'The Great Gatsby' right now. A lot of people say its good so I thought I would see for myself." He said while shrugging his shoulders.

He opened the page to where he left off and began reading. I wanted to say something else, but all I could do was have a smile on my face. A damn smile, that's it.

The ride was pretty long and every now and then, I would steal glances at the boy who sat next to me. I had seen him around school and I knew he was pretty well known, and yet I had no idea what his name was. I contemplated on asking for his it but he had beaten me to it.

"So whats your name?" He asked. I looked up and was surprised to see that he had a small man bun. I bit my lip at how cute it was. Could he become impossibly more handsome? Yes, he just did. I saw him smirk at my reaction.

"Uh, it's (Y/n)." I said quietly with a bright blush tinting my cheeks. He chuckled as he closed his book.

"Pretty name. I'm Grizz." He grinned while sticking his hand out for me to shake. I hesitantly grabbed it as he shook it gently. His hands were so soft I almost swooned. Weird? I know.

I laughed at how gentlemanly he was. He was very sweet for a jock. I was surprised at first, but I'm starting to really like him. Oops.

"How come I've never seen you around?" Grizz asked. I shrugged while moving to the side so I could face him properly.

"I'm a bit antisocial I guess. Also, we don't have any classes together." I bit my lip as I studied him. His bangs fell in his eyes as he nodded at my words. He brushed them away as soon as caught me staring.

"Well that sucks. I think we would have made some pretty cool study buddies." He said while giving me a lopsided grin. His smile was contagious and his features were bright as he looked at me. I couldn't help but beam up at him as well.

"We would be good study buddies, wouldn't we?" I agreed while tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I noticed how Grizz looked at my lips before meeting my eyes again. He quickly took out his small man bun and ran his hands through his straight hair.

"Actually, we would make a great couple." He chuckled.
