Narrator's P.O.V

"babyyyy!" Irene turned around, just like all other students and quickly had to secure her feet on the ground to not fall back by Jackson's unexpected hug.

"Jackson!" she shouted surprised and grasped his shirt from the back for more support even though she knew he wouldn't let her fall.

"I missed you!" he dug his face on her neck to fill his nose with the scent he missed so much and slightly picked her up off the ground from the excitement.

"okay, okay..." she caressed his soft hair smiling "but I've been seeing you nearly everyday" she chuckled and Jackson suddenly pulled away from the hug holding her shoulders, while she looked at him surprised once again "what's wrong?" the wrinkles that formed on top of his eyebrows and forehead had her worried.

"nothing I just missed you a lot" he turned the current expression into a big smile and without hesitation he pecked her forehead which made her pale cheeks turn into a dark pink in a few seconds.

"I told you to not do this in public..." that was the only thing that could come out of her mouth.

Irene was still not very familiar with physical contact, especially in public, but Jackson was the type that would cling onto her in any place no matter where or the situation. Even if it had been months since the two started going out together, it was mission impossible for her to get used to it so soon.

"but I missed you" that was also the only thing that could come out from Jackson's mouth. It was kind of obvious how much he loved Irene. He had gotten so used to being with her that not being with her was as simple as plain white rice. Every time she wasn't with him, he only hoped the day would be over just so the time they would see each other again came closer.

"you know, I revised what you told me to" he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her to start walking.

"really?" she looked at his proud smile and raised her eyebrow.

"you don't believe me?" he raised his eyebrow as well and smirked.

"no, no, I do believe you" she raised her arms in defeat and he laughed.

"you'll see my hard work on the results" he looked forward smiling "but it's all thanks to you" he then lowered his head to her level, expecting a hair ruffle or a poke on the cheek but none happened. Jackson was a bit late to notice the discomfort Irene was feeling due to the dirty stares the other students (especially girls) were throwing at her.

He wanted to tell her not to bother giving her attention to them but things got worse when the whispering started. Anger built in him, he just wanted to stand in the middle and shout out how much he loved her to them but he thought it would just make Irene feel worse, so he discreetly removed his arm from her shoulder and held her wrist instead, to quickly walk to an empty place.

"Jackson?" Irene called out but he just continued walking without talking back "It's fine, I'm used to i-"

"stop saying that" he suddenly stopped. Looking straight into her eyes as he stood in front of her; only a few centimetres away, he slowly pushed her until her back hit the wall.

Irene could only stare back, trying not to burst out into tears. She didn't want to show Jackson how much it hurt to accept those stares from people without being able to do anything. He had done enough and she simply didn't want to bother him with her problems again.

"I'm not saying anything" her lips changed into a smile, which was obviously forced, to try move away from the closure he was creating with his arms.

"saying you're used to these things..." after seeing what she was trying to do, he hardly pushed her back to the wall with his hand on her back so she wouldn't get hurt "I don't like that" he said with a calmer voice and stuck his forehead with hers.
