Jimin & Namjoon
Namjoon sighed as he read the same paragraph for the 6th time. He couldn't even begin to tell you what the paragraph was about because he didn't know, even after reading it so many times. He was trying his damndest to focus, but his mind was thousands of miles away.
He closed the book and laid his head on the table.
What was wrong with him?
He felt giddy, as if every atom of his body was vibrating in excitement.
But why?
He jumped up and paced the floor of his living room.
Back and forth. Back and forth.
In his pacing and deep thinking, he didn't hear his front door open or shut. He didn't see the smaller, pink haired boy lean against the wall and stare at him.
"Joonie, if you keep pacing like that, you're going to wear the floor down."
Namjoon froze.
And so did every atom in his body.
He slowly turned around and lowered his gaze to his fluffy haired friend. Jimin smiled brightly back at him and Namjoon's heart thumped. Hard.
He couldn't manage to say anything back as he struggled to swallow the large lump that suddenly appeared in his throat. All he could do was stare at him, dumbfounded.
Jimin's smile softened as he tilted his head, considering the taller boy. "Are you okay?"
Namjoon didn't answer.
This made the younger boy pout. "You're not giving me the silent treatment now, are you?"
Namjoon only blinked.
Jimin's lip poked out further. "Jooniiiiiiiiie." He slowly walked to stand in front of Namjoon, until they were just inches apart, and looked up at him with puppy dog eyes. "What did I dooooo?" He whined.
The older boy still remained silent. His brain had stopped functioning. He couldn't utter a word even if he tried to. He could only take in the younger boy's face.
Silky, pink hair that shone under the light. Dark eyes that sparkled more than stars in the night sky and chubby cheeks that would turn his eyes into crescent moons whenever he graced someone with that beautiful, megawatt smile. Pearly white teeth surrounded by gorgeous, plump lips.
You're in love with him.
Namjoon's breath caught as his eyes widened and he stumbled away, falling clumsily onto the couch.
I'm what?
"Namjoon?" Jimin asked, concern present in his voice.
Namjoon was panicking. He was hyperventilating, struggling to breathe. His mind ran a million miles a minute.
No, he couldn't be. Absolute not. Absolutely NO-
He felt arms wrap around him and a head on his chest.
His eyes widened further as he looked down to see Jimin sitting in his lap.
"Are you angry at me? Did I do something wrong?" Jimin sniffled, scared to look at him.
Namjoon's brow furrowed. Angry at him? Was he crying?
He hurriedly wrapped his own arms around the smaller boy and ran his fingers through his pink hair, pressing him closer to him. "No, Jimin. I'm not angry at you and you haven't done anything wrong. Don't think that."
"Then what's wrong?" Jimin looked up at him, his eyes wet from unshed tears at the thought that his very best friend in the world is angry at him.
Namjoon sighed, the sight of him with tears in his eyes making his heart wrench. "Nothing. Nothing at all. My mind was just some place else. But I'm fine and we're fine, okay? Please don't cry, it makes me sad." Namjoon said sincerely.
Jimin stared at him for a moment. "Are you really sure you're okay?"
A small smile tugged at Namjoon's lips. "I swear."
"Pinky promise?" Jimin held up his small pinky.
Namjoon couldn't help but laugh as he wrapped his larger one around it. "Pinky promise."
Jimin flashed him a giant, innocent smile before placing his head in Namjoon's neck.
Namjoon's heart fluttered like a butterfly with new wings.
Yes, he was absolutely in love with him.
