Adora pressed her back against her door and sighed softly. That didn't go as planned, at all.
The blonde girl opened her eyes and decided to give the news to both Bow and Glimmer about Catra. When she opened the short girls door and entered, she noticed both Bow and Glimmer giving her a worried look.
"What?" She asked, a bit puzzled.
"Adora, have you been getting any sleep? You have some dark circles under your eyes." Bow asked, twiddling his thumbs nervously.
"This is exactly why I said it was a bad idea to bring her here! And we heard you two arguing, are you okay Adora?" Glimmer piped up. Throwing her arms in the air and raising her voice, before she lowered both her hands and her voice.
"She's been asleep for a week, she's lost a lot of weight in that time and blood. So no, I haven't been getting enough sleep. I was scared she wouldn't wake up or something... but she woke up, and I kind of expected and didn't expect her to lash out at me with her words like that." Adora admitted, rubbing her arm as she lowered her gaze.
"She told me she wanted to be left alone, s-she wanted to.. to d-die out there..." Adora's voice wavered a bit as fresh tears made her vision glossy.
Bow and Glimmer jumped up at the same time and gave the blonde girl a comforting hug.
"I'm sure she didn't mean that Adora, but whatever happened to her must have been bad. Sooner or later she's going to be grateful you found her, it was basically fate that you did." Bow said softly. Rubbing Adora's back to sooth her soft sobs that escaped her throat.
"I know she's done so many things to make us suffer, she kidnapped Glimmer, took her powers, almost took over Brightmoon, and has tried to kill us multiple times. But I just can't bring myself to hate her, I'm disappointed yeah, but I don't hate her. And if she was... you know... I just wouldn't be able to move on knowing that she was no longer alive." Adora said between sniffles and soft sobs, holding both her friends in comfort.
The trio stayed like that for a while longer until Adora's sobs finally subsided. The blonde then pulled away from the embrace, thanked them for being there to comfort her, and walked back to her room with a new found confidence to approach the feline after the trio had talked a bit longer.
After she closed the door behind her, Glimmer turned to Bow.
"I still don't approve of her being here, what if this was planned and she's secretly sending information to the Horde behind our backs? Plus she's slowly breaking Adora, I have never seen her cry, not once." Glimmer said sternly.
"I know Glimmer, I'm cautious but we can't throw her out in her condition. That's not what hero's do and Adora would hate us if we did that, you saw how torn she was about thinking Catra was possibly dead, this was her first best friend, long before us. We have to take her feelings in to account about Catra. Plus, even if we did throw her out, I'm sure Adora would find a way to get her back. You can tell she's not letting her go back." Bow replied in the same serious tone as Glimmer.
The pastel pink haired girl sighed and nodded her head, she hated being wrong but Bow did have a point. She rubbed her temple before looking back up at the archer.
"Alright, she can stay, temporarily! But I'm only doing this for Adora." Glimmer said with a pointed look.
Bow jumped up giddily and clapped his hands before engulfing the short girl in a bear hug and twirling her around, "That's fine by me!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Adora quietly opened her door and gently closed it behind her, tip-toeing over towards her bed to see if Catra was asleep, which luckily for her, she was.
The blonde girl quickly changed into some comfortable clothes, only wearing a light gray tank top and white shorts that hugged her waist comfortably, and carefully decided on whether or not she should slip in to her bed with the brunette.
She hesitated, but eventually found the courage to climb in to her bed with the feline. The feeling of sharing a bed with her once again felt so right to her, when she first came to Brightmoon, she would end up sleeping in Glimmer's room because she was so used to having the brunette to sleep with her. She even kept pulling her knee's up to her chest as if Catra was right there at the bottom of the bed, sound asleep.
Adora took a deep breath and tried to keep her loud, beating heart to a minimum, the only sound that could be heard in the large, moonlit room was the sound of the blonde's heart beating against her chest, and the pairs breathing. This wasn't the first time she's shared a bed with Catra, so why is this time any different?
Because they're each others number one enemy?
Whatever it was, it was giving Adora a feeling she's never felt before. And that actually frightened her a bit.
Until she suddenly heard a voice beside her that caused her to freeze.
"Go away... please Lord... I'm sorry..." Catra said in her sleep, kicking the sheets off her with her good foot as her face scrunched up a bit.
Adora stared at Catra a bit, the sight was cute in her eyes. But she was also worried, the feline had said something about Hordak twice in one day. Had he done something? Is he the reason Catra is hurt?
These were one of the many questions that ran through Adora's mind, but she didn't want to wake Catra up to ask her. So she instead did something else.
She carefully scooted over to the feline and and towered over her on all fours, she was still hurt and she was sure if she were to straddle her lap right now to try and comfort her, she would have waken Catra up. Shaking that thought away, she questioned why she even thought to straddle the feline in her sleep. A blush lightly tinting her cheeks.
She cupped her cheek softly, and gently whispered in her ear, "He won't hurt you Catra, I won't let him. He can't get you anymore." She said soothingly.
Catra's face relaxed and she unconsciously leaned into Adora's soft touch, a gentle purr rumbling in her chest, but it was still audible to the now wide eyed and flushed blonde above her.
Adora then gave a soft giggle and whispered to herself, "Cutie." She knew that if Catra had heard her, she would have quickly denied it and probably made a come back to embarrass the blonde.
She laid back down on her side and was about to call it a night, until Catra unconsciously moved in her sleep again, she buried her head into the crook of Adora's neck, and wrapped her tail around the blonde's leg. Her left arm loosely wrapped around her waist.
Adora felt her face heating up once more, her cheeks were probably glowing by this point in the moonlit room. She smiled softly and rested a hand on the brunettes cheek, finally closing her eyes as sleep took over.
