As soon as she stepped out, a teenage boy ran past Mayu. From his speed, the boy was probably a member of the track and field club. His agility was pretty commendable. Mayu noticed that the boy's shoes left tracks of blood.

It had begun.

Mayu's expression was calm.

"I can survive this. Considering what lies ahead, these Woms are almost cute."

The female teacher behind her soon also saw the boy running past, and the bloody tracks,

"W-what... . Miss Saito, you must not run off by yourself. Oh God, why didn't the alarm go off? Is there a terrorist attack? Is that... blood?"

"Terrorists would be more adorable, compared to this crap," Mayu thought, "But what to do with these kids?"

For Mayu, who had survived and lived forty years ahead, her current classmates and even the teacher, in her late twenties, could be considered as mere children. Worse, they were oblivious to their impending doom. And Mayu did not plan to play babysitter.

Mayu gritted her teeth and stepped back inside the classroom, closing the door. The teacher exhaled a relieved breath,

"Thank you for listening, Miss Saito. We should wait for further instruction. That earthquake and power outage probably had caused that boy to got hurt someho-"

"Listen to me!" Mayu addressed the classroom. Her voice was soft and sounded hushed, but for some reason every single person in the classroom could hear her clearly. Her voice carried an inexplicable force that made everyone listen.

"Good. I still have the skill. This much volume will not attract the Woms."

[Skill : Whisper]

Despite the idiotic name, the skill was anything but. [Whisper] amplified any sound or voice produced by a [Caritan]. It carried the will of the [Caritan] clearly to the subjects, ensuring all the addressee understood what the [Caritan] said, despite however hushed the source of voice or sound was.

[Caritas]; A person who possessed [Caritas] was called [Caritan]

A trait based on one of the seven virtues. In English, it was referred to as 'Charity'. In the [Forsaken World] and the worlds beyond, [Caritas] was a default trait of a ruling Lord.

"Previously, I did not even have to talk to deliver [Whisper] to my subjects. I have truly returned to the past and become this useless," Mayu gritted her teeth, "But for some reason, I still have my old traits with me. I just need to meet the prerequisites to get to where I was."

"And find him."

"If you want to live, stay as silent as possible. The Woms... monsters, will reach this floor soon. They are sensitive to sound, but blind. Whatever you will hear and see from behind the door," Mayu pointed towards the closed classroom door, "Do not step outside."

"When that blackout happened, all of you felt something. Use the time to find your first trait. You will know it when you do. Only when you awaken you first trait, then you can start slowly find your way out of this building."

The teacher wanted to interrupt once again, but she stopped short because Mayu threw her a glare.

The students frowned and started to whisper to each other. Some of them had clearly felt that 'something' Mayu talked about, that fear that threatened their very souls, as if their lives would suddenly be wiped out off existence.
