Chapter 6- Welcome To The Family

KARAN'S POV

Tomorrow is Ruhi's birthday.. I pulled my hair in frustration thinking about what should I gift her.. I had no idea what a boy should gift a girl, never in my life I had to think about this, I don't want to gift her anything and make fool of myself.

I again thought about what Ruhi is most possess of, but nothing I could tell of. I even called Amma to ask her.. But at the end I stutter so badly that she thought the line was not clear.

Maybe I should visit the gift shop.. I could get idea what should I buy.

Half and Hour later I regret   visiting gift shop because I am more confuse now. There was sp much gifts.

Even the salesman was getting irritated with me as I think, so I decided to leave the shop, but then I saw a bracelet.

The salesman told me it was charm bracelet, he also told me that he could change and add more charms to it, So I told him to add Letter R and 20, as it was her 20th birthday.

I smiled satisfied that finally I found something. Wrapping it in gift paper I kept it in my bag.

When clock struck 12 in midnight, I called her but she didn't pick up so I text her birthday wishes. I also text Rohit wishing him too.

Morning when I got ready, I don't think Ruhi will attend any lectures today, Her parents had kept a party at their home for her and Rohit

She had invited me, Rahul and Neha only, telling me she invited only close friends. I will give her gift then.

Today I think the lectures are going to drag on, since Ruhi won't be there. I slump down on chair, 5 minutes later as usually Ruhi came running inside.

"Hi!" she said breathlessly. "You came?" I asked, she opened her bag "Yup can't miss lecture" she said.

Professor came, I wrote happy birthday on my book and showed it to Ruhi, She smiled, before scratching a thank beside it.

Aftet lecture Ruhi drag me toward the parking area.. "I want to show you my gift" She said.

She stood in front of a brand new expensive car "This is your gift" I said walking to the car running my hand on it "Yes Dad and mom gave it." she told me. " let go for ride" she shove me inside and came to driver side.

Sitting on bonnet, we gaze at beautiful landscape in front of us, I didn't dare to give her my gift, I mean she got so much I don't she will like my gift anymore. She told me that Rohit had gifted her a digital camera,.

"What happened!?" Ruhi asked me suddenly, I looked at her, brown eyes staring at me curiously "Huh!?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"You are quite.. I mean you are always quite but today you are constantly zoning out, it everything OK? " She asked, taking a deep breath I stood on my feet and opened my bag "I don't know if you would like it or not.. I mean it's not something very fancy.. But here" I gave her the gift.

Her eyes sparkle instantly "You got me gift.. O my!" she said hurriedly taking it. "Thank you so much" She said with sparkle in her eyes.. I chuckle "First open it" I told her.

She carefully opened the gift and I waited in anticipation, for a minute she stare at gift wide eyes.. Did she not like it? I wonder.

But suddenly she launch at me catching me off guard and hugged me her hands around my neck.. "CHARM BRACELET!!" she yelled in delight still hugging me.

"Its so beautiful.. Karan thank thank you so much.. I love it.. It's a best gift ever.. And look it has my initial.. And unicorn.. O my!" she suddenly kissed my cheek making me freeze on my place.
