Chapter 29 - The Ring

ROHIT'S POV

I groan adjusting my eyes to light.
"Baby" I heard my mom's voice,my head hurts like hell.

Mom pressed a glass of water to my lips, gulping down the cool liquid somewhat made my body relax.

"Where Neha?..is.sh"

"She is ok physical.. But cursing herself for what happened to you" Mom complete my sentence.

"Where is she now?" i asked her.

"She step out with your Dad, to file a proper FIR against the people involved in this incident." She told me.

"Dad is angry?" I asked imagining him pulling at his hair.

"O baby he is furious!" Mom sigh.

"Didn't he warn you last time to take bodyguards where ever you go " She scold me.

" I am sorry mom..i..I know i have messed up again but I'll make it up to you and Dad " I tried to assure her.

"How? " She asked .

I furrowed my eyebrows at her,my mom had never asked me is question ever. She had always trusted me.

"This situation is not as simple as you take it son, media is involved in this" She told me.

Shit this is bad.. I should have known.

"They are digging up on Neha's past already" She told me.

But why are they searching for Neha's past?.

Mom sigh "you announced in her cousin reception that she is your Fiance." My my asked more like told me.

"You love her don't you" She asked me suddenly.

"Mom..i I don't know" I shook my head.

"But I know my son, you may speak freely and act like you don't care but I know you speak feom your heart baby..
And suddenly telling someone that girl is your fiance will only come from your heart." Whenever my mom had talked to me,I had always wonder if she had a special power to look through people.

"You do whatever it take,but baby you need to protect her" She said.

"I know mom.. And I think I know what I should do" i said mom gave me a questioning look.

"I need the ring" I said making mom gasp.

Looking at the ring in my hand,I had never imagine that this is how I am going to propose a girl.

This ring had belonged to my grandmother,dad had given to mom, and mom had always said that she will pass it down to her daughter in law.

Hiding the ring in my fist I closed my eyes as they felt heavy.

I felt soft hand holding my hand, and I knew before opening my eyes that she was here.

I opened my eyes she had her head down
"Did I made my Sunshine cry" I said ,she gasp raising her head and looking at me.

Endless tears stream down her tiny red eyes which were already swallon.

"Rohit" She whimper,busting into more tears she cried more. i wiped her her tears but she continues to cry.

"I..I hate you" She hiccups between her cries.

"I know " I said "no you don't know..i was so much scared..i..i thought I  am going to loose you...It felt like someone had ripped mu heart" She cried more.
