You failed. She won. He won.

For the next few weeks, Junko pretty much disappeared. According to Mikan, she was partaking in an experiment where she'd have her memories erased. Everything would've felt like a bad dream if it weren't for... him.

At first glance, it would look the happy ending of some teen romcom. The slightly annoying but good intentioned oddball finally manages to get with the girl he was pining for and they end up being very happy together. Only problem was that you weren't happy.

Nagito never left your side during those last few weeks of school. The tension of sitting in a classroom where everyone but you was now completely insane was unbearable, and even then you wondered if you could call yourself completely sane after what you went through. One of your only friends was dead. The world itself was literally falling apart.

Needless to say, it would be an understatement to say you haven't been in a good mood lately.

Currently, you were being forced to sit on Nagito's lap as he looked at you as though you were the most beautiful piece of art in the world, his eyes still holding the insane glint that all the class bared now.

"To think... in the midst of all this chaos and despair... I'd get the perfect woman all to myself... I really am lucky..." Nagito muttered to himself before he caressed your cheek. His smile only increased in size when he saw you flinch at the contact.

"You look so cute when you're expressive with me... much better than giving blank stares all the time..." Nagito began kissing your neck, to which you instinctually pushed him back. He chuckled.

"Hm. I'm tired anyways. It's our last day of school tomorrow. You should get some rest as well." Nagito forced you to lay down before he went to sleep. You practically forced yourself to drift off as well.

The next morning, you and Nagito walked in, hand in hand. Nagito appeared to be his usual happy self while you looked solemnly at the ground. Nobody noticed you wince when you tried to pull away only for Nagito to tighten his grip. Or maybe they just didn't care.

"Hmph. You two sure took your time arising from the depths of slumber." Gundham remarked. Nagito laughed.

"Sorry. (Name) is pretty nervous today. You know, since it's our last day and all." Nagito said as he pulled you closer before resting his head on top of yours. You sighed, and looked at the vase full of flowers on a desk at the back of the class. You remembered when you felt disappointed about not being able to sit at the back because you didn't feel like sitting next to the person there, and gave Nagito the chance to sit next to you instead. If you sucked it up and sat at the back, would things have turned out differently? Or was that just wishful thinking? Regardless, Nagito forcefully moved you along and made you sit in your seat before sitting in his own.

"Well, I'm glad you two made it! I have a letter for all of you and it'd be a real shame if the two of you were left out!" Ms. Yukizome said while holding up a small book.

"What? A letter?" Fuyuhiko asked.

"I mean, this is goodbye for us. I wanted to do something teacher like at the end, at least..." Ms. Yukizome said.

"Well, it's not goodbye for all of us." Nagito said as he smiled at you.

"We get it! You two like sucking on each other's faces!" Hiyoko shouted. Ms. Yukizome giggled before opening her book.

"As your homeroom teacher, and your upperclassmen who graduated from Hope's Peak before you, I cheer you on from the bottom of my heart. In your lives to come, I think there will be sad and difficult times. Even so, remember what you learned from school and let your wings spread wide. I get sad when I think I won't be seeing you anymore, but I'll be cheering you on in your future endeavors. Your homeroom teacher, Chisa Yukizome." Ms. Yukizome read aloud before bowing. Slowly the whole class began clapping and tearing up. You had to admit, you were pretty moved yourself, almost forgetting that the actual end of the world was happening outside. Until you looked into Ms. Yukizome's eyes and saw the insanity in them and everyone else's.
