(I apologize in advance if the first half doesn't seem that good, I really wanted to get to the juicy stuff. Also, I'm not dead.)
In all the years you'd known him... well, you couldn't exactly say you knew Ryota Mitarai at all, actually. Even in the days leading up to you being put in the Neo World Program, your interactions would be limited to nothing more than awkwardly looking away from each other if he happened to be walking by when you were being taken to and from your sessions with the (now deceased) former Ultimate Therapist, Miaya Gekkogahara.
Even so, you never imagined him as the type who would try to brainwash the whole world. Did he not realize he was being just like Junko Enoshima? Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't.
Either way, you had to stop him before the world became a bunch of mindless hope zombies. Something even Nagito thought was going too far. After all, if there's no despair, no hope will be created from it.
Upon arriving at your destination, you all split up in order to take on the soldiers that had already been brainwashed by Ryota. Which is how you found yourself being chased by one of them through a ruined hallway.
"Surprisingly, this is the closest thing to a good day I've had in awhile." You said as you threw a stuffed cat you had made on the way there at the brainwashed task force member. They caught it, examined it, and laughed before the cat released a gas from its nose, causing them to fall asleep. You'd have to thank Hajime for helping you with that later. It was then that you heard a loud noise that nearly made the building shake. You followed it, arriving at the source just as the noise stopped, and saw Ibuki and Mahiru giving each other a high five.
"Aaaaaw... (Name) missed Ibuki's concert..." Ibuki said upon noticing you. You looked at all the soldiers who had fainted as they clutched their ears in pain.
"Can't say I'm jealous." You said.
"Let's just go." Mahiru said before heading out. You nodded and followed her, causing Ibuki to shout at you to wait for her.
After running for what felt like forever, you managed to make it to where Ryota was planning to broadcast his so called "Hope Video." You, along with the others, stepped in to see Hajime was already in the middle of confronting Ryota.
"I'm not strong either. I have regrets. So do you, right?" Hajime asked. Ryota began shaking.
"Of course I have regrets! I'm the one who enabled Junko Enoshima to make the Despair Video! So many people died because of me! Even now... people are either dying or becoming traumatized wrecks like her!" Ryota yelled as he pointed at you. You sighed.
"Yeah. It's true. I've been through alot. And other people have been through things just as bad, if not worse, than what I went through. But you know what? I survived. It wasn't easy, but I survived. And once again, there are others just like me. Some who will also end up just fine, others who won't be so lucky. Those are the stories we'll never know. But none of them are your fault. It's Junko's fault for manipulating you." You said. Ryota trembled as he fell to his knees.
"No... if I hadn't been so weak she never would've been able to manipulate me in the first place... I'm not strong like you guys! You don't understand at all!" Ryota yelled.
"We... we aren't strong. We did things that we can never undo. Things we'll regret for the rest of our lives... brainwashed or not..." Nagito said as he looked at you, while you just remained focused on Ryota. Nagito almost made an attempt to hold your hand but clenched his fist before his metallic hand came in contact with your scarred one.
"We aren't seeking forgiveness for those things." Said Sonia.
"We are merely seeking to move forward." Gundham said.
