"Hey Namjoon. Sorry man I didn't answer you before. I was working the stuff I need to for this job," Suga says as soon as he picks up the phone.
"Oh. I just wanted to know how much progress you have done and you haven't been dropping by lately." Namjoon replies.
Suga takes a big breath of air, his heart's pace quickening. He could hear it pounding in his ears as he said, "I haven't found any leads on Min Y-Yoongi's case." The detective lets out a big breath of relief.
The silence from the other end of the phone was deafening, and Suga knew that Namjoon did not want to hear that. Usually, the young detective finishes cases quickly which is why Namjoon relied on him for this one.
"Suga. I understand how hard this may be but if you really can't do this case then I will have someone else do it, okay?"
Suga gulps. "No no, that's fine. I can do it, just give me a little time boss."
Namjoon sighs. "I will, but last time we chatted about this you seemed a bit uncomfortable."
Ah, that caught Suga off guard. He forgot that their boss was the best of them all, and he can read people faster than a college student reading a children's book. He is the smartest of the workplace, and can handle any case with ease. The intelligence he possessed was higher than all of the detectives in Bangtan Agency, which was why he stuck to managing and giving out cases to the right detectives that fit its job. Knowing which detective was fit for which job is very important, or else the cases may never be solved. Kim Namjoon knew everyone's weaknesses and strengths, and all it takes is a careless moment for him to figure out one's secret.
Suga knew he had to be careful until he was ready to reveal himself.
"Yeah, boss I'll get a lead on stuff soon, don't worry about it." Suga laughed nervously. "I am about to make my way home so I'll text you later."
Namjoon hums on the other side of the phone. "Okay Suga. Good luck. Bye," and with that, the boss ended the phone call.
Suga lets out a long sigh, and leaned against his car for support. He knew that he had to up his game. One slip up and death threats will be flying in his face, although now he knows tactics to cover up his mistakes. He knew he had to start thinking about the possibilities and how to confess. He didn't even know if what he did was a crime. After all, he changed his whole life to save it.
"Fuck, I'm screwed," he mutters to himself while running a hand through his hair. "I should go pay him a visit," he thinks aloud.
"Pay who a visit?" A voice comes from behind him. Suga turns, and sees Jimin, red-faced and hands curled into threatening fists.
"Sorry," the younger whispers, and punches Suga in the face.
