Emily's P.O.V.
Luke put one foot out the window and grabbed onto the tree and climbed down it slowly. I tried yelling for Layla again, but gave up, until I heard her yelling back.
"I'm okay. I'm trying to get out. Don't worry."
"Be careful." I looked out the window and saw Luke reaching his arms out. I looked behind me and a saw a picture of me, Luke, and our parents at a cabin they rented in the forest. They bought the cabin before they died. I looked back at Luke and back at the picture. I quickly ran to where it was sitting and grabbed it. I could here Luke yelling my name. I ran back to the window and looked down to see Luke ready to catch me. I started climbing out the window with the picture in my hand. I jumped and landed in Luke's arms. I looked at the picture to see if it was broken or not. Luke put me down and hugged me tight. Then we both looked at Layla's window, hoping that she would make it.
Layla's P.O.V.
I was sleeping peacefully until I heard Emily yelling my name.
"LAYLA, GET UP THERE IS A FIRE!" I quickly got up in a panic. I could see the fire from under the door. I told her I was okay and was trying to get out. I quickly grabbed a bag from the closet and shoved as much clothes in it as possible. I then went over to my nightstand put my picture in it and ran over to the window. I opened it and heard someone yelling my name. I looked out the window and saw Emily and Luke running over to the window. I lifted the bag out the window a little bit. Luke held his hands out ready to catch it. People were starting to come out of the houses, terrified and on the phone with most likely the police. As I was about to drop the bag into his arms, the fire burnt a whole through the door, scaring me half to death. I jumped out in fright, flailing my arms, hoping to grab onto to something. Luckily I was able to grab onto a tree branch. I looked back up at the window, seeing the flames completely in the room. I tried pulling myself up, but stopped when I heard a large crack sound. I looked down to see a giant crack in the tree branch I grabbed onto. I heard another crack, then I was falling. As I was falling, I hit my head on something, then I hit the ground, landing on my back and the bag. I cried out in pain. I start to feel dizzy. I moved my head to the side a little bit. I see Luke and Emily running over to me, people on the phone, and a giant fire. Black dots start to fill my vision. It was hard to hear anything. I tried reaching my arm out, but it hurt to move. I started to feel dizzier and dizzier. Then I pass out.
Luke's P.O.V.
As Layla was about to drop her bag, I suddenly feel a bunch of heat, falling back. Emily fell too, but she landed on me. I start to get up, then I see Layla falling from the tree. I get up quickly as I can, but I don't reach her in time. "LAYLA!" She slowly turns her head towards me. When I finally reach her, she already passed out. I start yelling her name, though I doubt she can here me. Then I hear something, worrying me a lot.
"I found Layla Phoenix!" I look back at Emily, who has the same look as I do. Then I hear sirens behind us and see the police and a fire truck. The police start running over, saying that they found her. Without hesitation, I pick up Layla, then start running. I look behind me and see Emily not far behind. I hear the police behind us, yelling at us to stop. I finally run into an alleyway, Emily still behind me.
"WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?! WE HAVE TO HIDE SOMEWHERE." I start to think of where we could go. Then I get an idea. Emily must have been thinking the same thing.
"THE CABIN!" We both say in unison. We here the cops again and we start running. Luckily I remember where it is. We hear running behind us and it's the cops again. We start to run faster. Were getting closer to the cabin, then I hear a train. I look to the left and I see it. I push Emily in front of me a little and I slow down a little bit. I turn around to see the cops slowing down. I turn to see Emily across the track and train getting closer. Then I run toward Emily. I jump over the track, barely missing the train. When I land, trip over something, I fall, and then I accidently drop Layla. "The train looks pretty long. We should be good for now." I look at her and then I look at Layla who is on her stomach, laying in the grass, still passed out. I crawled over to her and rolled her over. Emily sat next to me, looking closely at her. I lifted her head up a little bit and looked at the back of her head. It was bleeding a little bit. I look at the train to see that it's still really long. I also see a bag on the ground. I get up and walk over to it and pick it up. I open it and see a cracked picture frame. The picture had a younger version of Layla with who I assume are her parents. I zip it back up and walk back over to her. "What's that?" Emily looks at the bag in my hand.
