Present:

I can't remember much after that, everything after that seemed to zoom by, obviously I was only 9 so it's hard to remember 6 years of memories. I do, however remember the points of significance, for that we have to go later in the year of 2008 in the early evening (around 1-2 months after)

Past:

I was walking with my mom and my sister, back from my gymnastics class.

I loved gymnastics, it was like playing in a playground and jumping on and over things foolishly but when you did it in gymnastics it was grace.Skill.Peace. The best part of it was that all the adults stayed to watch the class which fuelled my passion. One thing I loved as a child was attention. I loved being in the spotlight. Yes, I was shy, but when people watched me flipping, jumping and skipping they would clap and say well done. Obviously,

they were talking to their own children but I didn't notice it then. In that class I felt it was only me.

As we approached the door we came to see that it was unlocked and slightly ajar, the first thought that came to my mind was that we had been robbed, that had obviously been my moms first thought also because she bounded upstairs leaving me to close the door and take my sister upstairs.

I let my sister walk off to my mom as I looked around. I checked the kitchen, the bathroom, my moms bedroom and then the bedroom me and my sister shared. It seemed nothing was misplaced or in fact missing, which I found strange. With this new information and feeling like the world best 9 year old detective, I ran to the living room to tell my mom but stopped in my tracks once I had reached her. She was just staring down at the carpeted floor with her hand over her mouth in shock. Once I had followed her gaze my eyes met millions or shards of glass and I quickly jumped back not wanting to get harmed.

I took in the scene bit by bit.

First, I looked at the desk where the computer once stood. There were pieces of glass on the desk maybe around 4-5 small pieces and a large dent settled in the wall.

Then I looked down at the carpet and glass to see the computer lying there broken. The screen no more. (Obviously)

Finally, I came to the conclusion that maybe my mom left the door open and an animal, like a cat, came in and made a mess. In my young mind it was the only explanation.

I turned to tell my mom this but she was missing. Before I could even wonder where she was I heard her screaming profanities from her bedroom. I went over to my sister who was sitting on the sofa minding her own business and led her to our bedroom sitting her down on the bed, telling her to stay there. Then I went to go and find my mom.
