Maddies POV
"MADELINE ABIGAIL CAMOS!" I heard my mom yell. " I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE LAST TIME THIS WOULD HAPPEN!"
"But-"
"Don't but me, this was your last chance and you blew it. I'm sending you to California!" my mom said as she calmed down a bit.
Before we carry on let me explain everything to you first. My name is Madeline Abigail Camos, but people call me MAC. For the past few months I've been in a little trouble with the law, so much trouble that all the police officers knew me by name.
It all started when I met Jake, the boy I thought was the one.
He had jet black hair and chocolate brown eyes, he was the one that all the guys wanted to be and all the girls wanted to be with but he chose me. Out of all the girls in the school he had to chose me , just your average high school girl, medium length blonde girl and bright blue eyes.
Our relationship was perfect in the beginning and we were in love. At least I thought we were in love until he got into some shady business and dragged me with him. Let's just say it changed my life, my mom started to notice some changes in my behavior but also in my appearance.I cut my shoulder length hair and dyed it pink, I also recently got my nose pierced. After some run ins with the law my mom threatened to send me to my Aunt in California and I only had one chance left. I made up my mind and changed my mind set, i was in the clear for a while until a few hours ago when it all happened.
==========FLASHBACK===========
"Jake we need to get out of here!" I yelled at him while trying to keep my voice low as the alarm went off.
" But we need to get the job done!" He hissed back at me with venom in his voice, his eyes cold and void of the love they once held.
We were in our local music store stealing the latest albums for Jake's newest client that was apparently paying him a lot for this job.
Jake convinced me to come by reminding me of how much he loved me but that's not the reason I caved and joined him on his mission, it was the fact that I remembered what happened the last time I said no to him and the bruise that lingered for days after.
Things weren't working out as well as we planned and after the second alarm went off I knew it was time for us to get out, but Jake needed the money and insisted we stayed.
I knew it was a bad idea from the start and things only got from bad to worse in a matter of seconds when the cops showed up. Lucky for me I have such an amazing and caring boyfriend.
Note the sarcasm. Once Jake heard the sirens he bolted and I was left with the cops when they burst into the store and I was busted.
I thought Jake would have at least looked back and shoot me an apologetic look but all I got from him was a string of curse words and the sound of his feet hitting the floor from the window where he jumped down as he made his escape.
=========END OF FLASHBACK==========
That's how I ended up here at the police station, where my mom continues to lecture me.
"Can you listen to me? It wasn't my fault!" I tried to reason with her but she was already too deep into her lecture to even notice.
Both of us were interrupted by a stocky police man who I had come to know as Jeff walking into the room and clearing his throat.
"Mrs Camos, this is your final warning. If you fail to keep your daughter in check we will have no choice but to send her to the juvenile centre".
That was the final straw for my mom and I knew I was going to have to say goodbye to my familiar town and pack my bags for California.
