MAC's POV
I was tossing and turning, struggling to fall asleep. Something about what Roxy said really got to me. I got out of bed, knowing I wouldn't be able to fall asleep, and went down stairs to the kitchen.
I was making my way to the kitchen when I noticed that the light was on. To my surprise it was Roxy who was in kitchen stuffing her face with ice-cream. Once she noticed I was there, she pointed to an extra spoon on the counter. Without any hesitation I took the spoon and made my way to the empty chair next to my aunt and helped her with her journey to the bottom of ice-cream tub.
"What happened to you Maddie?" My aunt asked out of the blue.
I was going to pretend that I didn't know what was going on but I really was too tired to do so, " I was blinded by a force called love!" I replied.
"I really don't get it! You used to be so sweet and so down-to-earth and know you're a pink-haired-meerkat-calling-trouble-maker. I really miss the old Maddie. I really do " Roxy said as she got up and made her way out of the kitchen, leaving me to finish the ice-cream journey on my own.
"I do to Roxy, I do to" I replied so soft that it was barley audible.
I was in the kitchen for a while thinking about the old me and what Jake had changed me into. I guess moving to Cali and dumping Jake was a good thing after all. All that thinking really got me distracted and I didn't realize that I had reached the bottom of the tub. Considering I had accomplished the journey I decided it was time I actually tried to get some sleep.
I woke up the next morning to the smell of ....... pancakes, I think. Ugh who cares food is food. I finally got my sugar filled body out of bed and into kitchen, which can be quite a mission when you feel like you've just eaten the whole candy store.
I was greeted by an overly cheerful Aunt who seemed like she has just won a million dollars.
"Morning Sweetheart! I'm so glad you're up. I'm trying a new pancake recipe and I want you to tell me what you think?" Roxy said as she handed me a plate a pancakes.
I took a seat at the island and topped my pancakes with some nutella, whipped cream and...... chocolate chips. I case you hadn't noticed I really love food! When I finished my pancakes Roxy was staring at me with wide eyes, probably waiting on my response.
"They were okay" I said nonchalantly as I made my way out back to my room.
I entered my room, fell on the bed and let out a big sigh. Man was I stuffed! Those pancakes where really good! After what seemed like a decade I decided to go take a shower.
I got all my clothes ready and went inside my in-suite bathroom. I turned the water on, stripped from my pajamas and entered the nice hot shower. I stood under the water a little bit before I actually started to wash myself. When I was done I brushed my teeth, I got out and dried myself, put some cream on and got dressed. I was wearing black denim shorts and a white tank top. As I was drying my hair I noticed that some of the pink dye was starting to wash away, leaving way for my shimmering blonde hair to show.
I made my way out the bathroom and into my bedroom. I put on my purple converse and my black hoddie. I looked at myself one last time in the mirror and then I went downstairs.
I was making my way to kitchen when I noticed sitting in lounge was the group of people I met yesterday talking to my aunt. I tried my best not to be seen but sadly, I failed
"Oh Maddie!" my aunt yelled
"Yeah?" I replied now in the lounge
"You remember the Lynches right?" She asked
Well how can I not! Meerkat Boy is one of them I thought to myself.
"Yeah sure"
"Good because you going to be spending the day with them!"
"WHAT!?" Please tell me heard right....
Roxy cleared her throat with a look on her face that said 'don't be so rude!'.
"Uhm....thank you for the offer but I would prefer to stay here today" I tried to smile politely.
"Sorry Maddie, it wasn't an option. Go get your bikini you're going to the beach!" My aunt replied with a giant grin on her face.
I grunted and turned around stomping up the stairs and into my room to get ready for this day that I was so dreading.
