Minhyuk woke up in his bed.
That was about all he could process. He was in his bed, and he was warm, and that was enough, even if his head felt like it was filled with cobwebs and all his limbs felt heavy. It was dark behind his eyelids, though, which was weird, so he had to open his eyes to make sure.
It was his room. It was his room, his silk duvet and soft pillowcases, but the curtains were closed. Minhyuk hadn't closed his curtains since he moved in.
That mystery was discarded, though, because of the near simultaneous discovery once he sat up of the headache pounding incessantly behind the cobwebs, and the glass of water and aspirin on the bedside table.
Yeongjae was the best person ever, Minhyuk decided, and popped the pills before he stood up. He was in his jeans and sparkly shirt from last night, still, but he wasn't wearing his boots. Best person ever, he echoed to himself, and stumbled out of his room. Tea.
The bathroom door was open, so he brushed his teeth first, which helped a little, and he splashed some water on his face, which helped more. But he was still bleary when he found his way out of the hall and into the kitchen.
"Hey!" Yeongjae said, cheerfully. "Good morning."
"Morning. You are still here?" Minhyuk tried for a smile, and more or less got it, he thought. It was a nice morning. The sun was shining and everything. "Thanks for putting me to bed last night."
"Hm?" Yeongjae took a long sip of his coffee, then wiped his lips with the back of his hand.
"And for, the aspirin." Minhyuk rubbed at his temple, then grabbed the kettle to put water on for tea. The sound of the water running was loud, but it didn't hurt that badly. He must have drunk water last night. "And for taking me back home."
"What? Sorry hyung, it wasn't me."
"You didn't?" Last night was a bit of a blur. He'd talked to Kyung, he thought-no, he remembered that-then it was just laughing and dancing. Even when he tried to focus on after, on bed, all he got was strong hands lifting him up, a deep voice in his ear, and feeling...safe. Familiar. It had to be Yeongjae. Yeongjae was the one who would think to put out painkillers and take off his boots. Maybe Joon, but he had been drunk last night too, and he and Sanha hyung had disappeared at one point, Minhyuk thought. "Are you sure?"
"Pretty sure, yeah." Yeongjae's whole face contracted as he thought. "Think it was Kyung hyung who brought you home, because I remember that Shin hyung dropped me at your place since it was near to the studio and I was drunk af."
"Wait. What? Kyung brought me home? And did you just say 'Af'?" Minhyuk raised his eyebrows, ruffling Yeongjae's hair making him squawk.
As Minhyuk sipped his tea, he couldn't help but dwell over the fact that Kyung brought him back home, put aspirin and water on his bedside table, made him chug water before he passed out and removed his shoes too.
It felt too good to be true.
"My heart is pounding so hard, oh my gosh." Joon said.
Minhyuk glanced over at Joon, who was clutching the plastic gun in both hands. A grin spread across his face. "Hey, it's okay. It's not real." Minhyuk reassured him, sliding the lazer tag vest over hid head.
