Minhyuk reached the apartment and kept hitting the buzzer and was ready to yell into the intercom when it just buzzed. Minhyuk frowned at it scowled at it and then climbed the stairs and knocked sharply on the door.

Kyung yanked it open after the first knock. He had shed his jacket and his boots, and his hair was a little wild like he had been messing around with it.

"I don't understand what's your deal! You basically rejected me and then kept on scowling at me when I tried to talk to someone, which by the way is very rude." Minhyuk rambled, just a tad bit tipsy after having drinks with Moonbin and out of breath.

"No, I didn't. I left the club for a reason. It's better if you move on. You see why can't I let this happen!? This won't ever work. I won't let the universe make decisions for me." Kyung said, frustration clear in his voice as his eyes narrowed on Minhyuk.

"No," he said before Kyung had a chance to say anything else, "No, I don't see, why don't you tell me?"

He took a step forward, and Kyung moved back like the close proximity of Minhyuk will burn him. Minhyuk shut the door, then turned so his back was to it, and he was facing Kyung.

"What?" Kyung questioned.

"You asked if I saw why you can't. I don't." Minhyuk crossed his arms over his chest. "Why don't you tell me? I deserve that much! I deserve the truth."

Kyung's mouth opened, then he closed it, his jaw clenching. When he spoke again, each word shot from his lips like a bullet. "I will not let the universe decide who I love."

"That's not what this is! I love you-"

"And you wouldn't have if the universe or whatever didn't put that red string on your finger!" Kyung cut him off. His hand was wrapped around the glove, scratching at it as it itched. "Just like the universe decided I had to be pansexual, and my ex would dump me because she couldn't see the red string-"

"What does that have to do with us?" Minhyuk asked, frustrated.

"Everything!" Kyung's head tipped back, thunking hard against the wall he was leaning against before he straightened again. Minhyuk moved forward because that word sounded like it was snatched from Kyung like it hurt coming out and he never wanted Kyung to be hurt. "I will not be what the universe made me. I refuse."

"So you're scared, we're all scared."

"I didn't choose any of this. I didn't choose you." Kyung whispered, loud enough for Minhyuk to hear it.

That really hurt. Like someone physically pulled his heart out. Kyung was hurting him with every word he said, had kissed him and ran away, had drawn Minhyuk in and now he was pushing him away, had looked at him like he was everything and listened to his problems and then pretended that didn't happen. "No, you didn't," Minhyuk agreed. "but remember you chose Lisa. How did that work out for you?"

"Screw you."

"No, screw you." Minhyuk uncrossed his arms, straightened up from leaning against the door. He knows he is smaller than Kyung, more petite, less broad than Kyung, glaring up at him because it wasn't fair. Kyung was his soul mate and he loved him despite all of this and it wasn't fair. "If you want Lisa, go back to her, because apparently her love was better than mine. Just stop being all you and glaring at me when I talk to anyone else and being nice-just go away." Just saying it, just thinking it, felt like a stab in Minhyuk's heart.
