Dehlaney POV
I knew I didn't have much time. I knew for a fact that Edgar dumb ass would stick his nose where it doesn't belong and that Jezebel needed me dead or else her life would be on the line. I know about that Kendra girl to and no doubt Jezebel would manipulate her in order to get what she wants.
The entire castle has been tense since the queen disappeared and the king seems to be less than bothered about it. Besides that everyone in the castle is throughly confused about the appearance of Kida when they were setting up a big fancy wedding for Kendra and Sinclair, and much to my dismay Sinclair has barely left Kida's side.
I understand that they're mates and they love each other and crap but Jesus I have things to do, evil plans to plot, bitches to stab, there's blood to be shed and I'm losing daylight.
Like always Kida was wrapped in Sinclair's arms while he laid asleep on her chest. She was asleep to and I know I promised never to do this but she really isn't given me any type of choice. Since I've arrived her and Sinclair have been up to some very energy consuming activities so she's seemed to completely forget about me. But we had a deal and I'll be dammed if I don't get what I want.
I took a deep breath in closing my eyes and concentrating as hard as could and smirked once I felt myself here forward, opening my eyes I was seeing through Kida's. I maneuvered best I could out of Sinclair's arms. I changed clothes, slipping on a pair of black jeans and a hoodie to match with sneakers.
The draft hit me as soon as I exited Sinclair's room and I shivered but continued on my way down the silent hallway, trying my best to not make a sound because I can't really explain why I'm creeping through the halls at 3 in the morning.
Once I came to the painting I stared at it with a pain in my chest and nothing but anger riding my heart. Edgar had gotten a portrait of me done for my nineteenth birthday. I'd always wondered why he never took me to the actual castle and even when I found out he was married, my love for him blinded my judgement.
I was so excited when he brought the artist and I sat there for three hours as still as I could in that awful uncomfortable dress because I wanted to make him happy. Backstabbing little cunt. In the portrait my eyes were vibrant, full of colour and life, something I definitely couldn't relate to now.
I snatched the key from around my neck, looking at the cursive D that was engraved in it with a grimace. He kept this around his neck, he was so hung up on the fact that a dead soul was back he didn't even notice that I'd taken it. He also probably thought that no one knew about this part of the castle.
Deep inside the winding halls my wonderful mate had a room dedicated to me and inside that room was me. I shoved the key into the middle of the frame, turning it, watching as the portrait rumbled and dust flew from the wall as it moved aside to reveal a staircase.
The entrance rumbled close as soon as I stepped inside and torches lit lighting the path. My heart hammered against my rib cage the deeper I went. My palms became sweaty and my knees wobbled so badly that I had to hold the railing for support.
Tears streamed down my face once I laid eyes on that glass case. I stood against the wall just staring at it. I couldn't bring myself to go anywhere near it. The more I gazed around the room, the harder I cried.
There were photos of me, paintings and murals. My clothes, my jewellery everything that I owned was packed neatly as if I would be coming back. A bed, my bed. An exact replica or what may be the exact same bed that I used to have was sat in the corner of the room. The entire place was arranged how I had my home back when I was alive. He did all this? F-for me?
With a shaky breath I stepped towards the middle of the room resting my palms gently on the glass display, my tears hitting the surface. There I laid, my body, preserved with magic all these years, nothing had changed. There wasn't a scratch on my frame, if anything I looked like I was asleep not dead.
Edgar had plans to bring me back despite all the talk about sending me to the Heaven realm. He'd made a deal for my soul to be preserved so that he could bring it back one day. It was his fault I was even in this predicament!
I sniffled, wiping my face as the sadness slowly turned to anger. He had the audacity to keep my body like it was some kind of fucking treasure like he didn't shove a sword through my heart!, like he wasn't the one who chose some random princess over his mate!, like he wasn't the one who said he loved me and lied!
"EDGAR YOU SON OF A BITCH! YOU TRICKED ME! YOU LIED TO ME! I GAVE YOU MY EVERYTHING! I GAVE YOU ALL I HAD AND PUT MY ALL INTO YOU AND YOU FUCKING KILLED ME! YOU STUPID MOTHERFUCKING COCK SUCKER!"
I just started thrashing the place, anything that I could put my hand on I threw it across the room. Kida was fighting me for control as I grabbed a pipe and started destroying everything in sight until everything was a broken, mess on the floor.
I screamed, raising my hands to hit the coffin but stumbled back when I saw my eyes snap open. I hit the floor hard watching as my arm reached up and opened the glass case sling my legs over the edge, stretching and cracking my bones as if I wasn't dead body.
"Ugh this body is so flabby and ugly. Why does Edgar even like this sack of fat?" I whimpered at the sound of my own voice. What the fuck?! What the actually fucking fuck?!
In complete horror I watched as my violet eyes spread into an inky black until they faded to a light brown colour that was anything but sweet. Despite the light shade they were filled with hate and anger as they glared at me.
I only knew one person with those eyes.
"Jezebel?" My voice cracked as my body stood up with such grace, the long white wedding dress encasing my frame made me look so much like an angel but the eyes, they showed anything but purity and innocence.
"Oh well hello Dehlaney"
