Sinclair POV

Everything was numb to me. In the current state that I was in. It seemed like her smiling face, sat gracefully in a picture in a wreath as everyone around me weeped. The only thing I could feel was numbness. I'd remember the day we took that picture, it was a random decision to go to the beach that evening. The sun was hitting her perfectly and made her skin look like gold as a smile lit up her face and the wind blew her beautiful unruly curls. Her dark brown eyes were sparkling like nothing before. Just like every other day she was more beautiful that ever to me.

Despite how beautiful the photo was I didn't change the situation or setting. Everyone was clad in black, the church was packed to capacity, people were standing on the sidelines, sniffling to themselves, some straight up bawling as the pastor prayed over the closed casket, in memorial of Kida-Rose Anastasia Griffin. As far as everyone knew she'd gotten in a car accident coming home from work and passed on impact with a drunk truck driver.

Staging that entire thing was easier that trying to explain to her family that I was demon and the devil had taken their possibly actually dead family member to hell to do only God knows what; or explaining why she was in hell in the first place. Because my psychotic parents decided to wipe her memory which led to her having another soul shoved into her body more than once. Like I said, easier to stage the car accident.

I was stood at the back of the church. Andre, Anna and Diana were stood at the front next to the casket as the pastor, preached and smoked over the wooden case. I'd never seen Andre cry, he looked broken, shattered even, it was his twin after all but he was holding it all in. Anna and Diana on the other hand made no effort to hide their despair, they were wailing, screaming, begging for God to bring Kida back and I clenched my fist knowing fully well that this was partially if not fully my fault.

If I hadn't been so selfish, if I would have had self control and left the girl alone then all of this wouldn't have happened. She would be safe and sound, with her family and friends. I didn't even know Kida knew all these people. Some people didn't even know her personally she'd just impacted them in some way with her kindness and huge heart and they piled in when they heard the news. Her professors, customers from the cafe, her boss. They were all here, shedding tears.

I wish I could cry with them but as I said before, all I felt was numbness. My heart was just frozen, my tears had dried up and the only thing I seemed to be doing lately was slitting throats and crushing hearts. I refused to sleep, eat, stop until I had Kida in my arms again dead or alive. I'd promised myself that I'd rip out Lucifer's jugular if it was the last thing I did.

The entire Lust realm was in chaos currently. My father had every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to open the portal to Lucifer's realm but of course the little fucker I called my uncle had put measures in place to ensure that couldn't happen. Between my anger and short irritation span and my father's it wasn't a surprise that bodies were beginning to pile up.

As the funeral finished and all of Kida's uncles carried the casket on their shoulder, a clap of thunder sounding through the sky as deep dark clouds filled the sky as rain poured from the sky. Slowly but surely everyone filed out of the church for the burial, until nothing but the pitter patter of the rain hitting the roof of the church filled the place.

"Sinclair..." Andre stood next to me and with shaky hands he lit a cigarette.

"I know you think I believe all this fuckery you're trying to pull....very hard might I add" he paused, taking a drag of the cigarette and blowing the air out of his nose.

" I also know you think that I don't know all about you Mr Incubus Prince" he flashed a smirk at me as he repeated his action and my blood ran cold. How the fuck? What the fuck?

"But lemme tell you a lil sum Sinclair...." he flicked the cigarette to the bud of the cigarette away as he shoved his hands in his pockets, staring up at the dark sky.

"You ain't the only one with secrets" his eyes casually flashed a milky white that made my heart skip, flashbacks of that night playing through my mind like a broken record.

"So bring my fucking sister home safe and sound or bad things will happen..."

"And that's a promise not a threat." he took a hand out of his pocket snapping his finger once and I watched as a bolt of lighting hit a tree setting the entire thing on fire, causing smoke to bellow through the sky with the dancing flames adding to the gloomy, sad mood of the entire surroundings.

" remember that..." he smiled at me, not the reassuring, kind smile, but the I'll kill your fucking ass type smile, the type of smile that definitely had a deeper meaning behind it as he sauntered off into the rain like it was nothing.

People were trying to scatter out of the cemetery to get away from the fire as it burned rapidly and the only thing I could think was... What the fuck was happening?

Andre wasn't human? Was Kida human? He knows about me?, about everything? And if Andre knows... Who the fuck else knows....
