Dakota Bradshaw
"We're going to family therapy."
Eden, Toby and I look at Veronica like she has four heads. Did she just say family therapy. "Why are we going to family therapy might I ask?" Eden asks.
"We realise it's been a big adjustment having Dakota home and we feel it would be beneficial if we all sat down and expressed how we were feeling in a safe place." Michael answers. This time, all three of us look at each other, as if we're silently communicating on how we feel about this.
I put my hand up before speaking. "I'm just gonna put this out there. I don't really do therapy."
"How do you know if you've never done it?" Veronica asks.
"I have. My school in Kentucky put me in anger management when I was 10 after I punched Samuel Bradley in the face and broke his nose and then I got kicked out of anger management for throwing a chair at the therapist when he made a sexist comment towards me and they deemed me 'too angry' for anger management. I'm also pretty sure the therapist got a restraining order filed again me if that's even possible?" I ask rhetorically.
Toby laughs. "We're doing fine. It's been great having Dakota here!" Eden exclaims.
"We love that you three have been getting along so well, but personally your father and I, along with your grandparents feel, we haven't been bonding with Dakota that well and we think voicing our feelings with someone who can mediate will be helpful." Veronica says.
"With someone who can mediate? What do you think she's going to do?" Toby asks.
Michael looks at Toby. "She just admitted she got kicked out of anger management. It's almost impossible to get kicked out of anger management."
"Key word in that sentence. Almost." I comment. "But fine, if you really want to do this stupid family therapy lets go ahead. The sooner we do it, the sooner it will be over. And if we're going to do this, I'm gonna need a joint before we do."
"What?!" They both exclaim.
I look towards Eden and Toby. "Did I say that out loud?"
They nod their heads and I quickly make a beeline for the stairs and head up to my room to change.
We all jump into the car and they drive us to the therapist office. As we walk in, I see a guy around my age, maybe slightly older walking out. He has brown hair and is tall, around 6'2 probably and he's gorgeous. He sees me and looks me up and down and I look back at him and smirk.
"Dakota?" Eden asks.
"Yeah?" I answer not looking away from the guy, my eyes following him as he walks by.
"What are you doing?" She asks.
I smile. "Checking out that hot guy that just walked past. Isn't it obvious?" I ask, before looking back to her when he is out of sight. "Don't tell me you've never checked out a hot guy before?"
