Dakota Bradshaw
"Dakota." Eden's voice is faint on the other side of the door. I haven't spoken to her since I walked out of therapy yesterday. I ended up spending the night with Nathan, because I didn't feel like going home.
I sigh. "Come in." I respond and the door opens and Eden quietly walks in. She sits down in front of me on my bed and looks at me yet says nothing. "Say what you need to say."
"I'm sorry for not being sensitive to your feelings about the whole thing. You just seemed like you didn't care at all. You were acting as if you weren't kidnapped and held at gunpoint." Eden starts.
"How long have you known me now?" I ask.
She shrugs her shoulders. "A few months."
"And when have you ever seen me get shook up about anything?" I continue pressing.
"Never." She whispers.
"Just because I don't act like I'm shaken up, doesn't mean I'm not. It's just my way of coping with the situation. I like to move on and go back to the way things were, when they were simpler. Which sounds insane since my life is anything but simple, but you get the idea." I comment and this makes Eden laugh slightly.
She then sighs again. "I just want you to understand how scary it was for us. Thinking we were going to lose you again. I mean the first month you were here, you wanted to do anything but stay."
"That's true. But look at everything that has happened over the past few months. We got closer, I got close to Toby, I met Nathan, you started dating Parker, I even started getting along with Veronica believe it or not...Why would I ever want to leave that?" I ask.
We both sit in silence for a few moments and she leans in and hugs me. I hug her back and we stay like that for a moment when my door opens. "THANK GOD! I thought you two would never make up."
Parker. He walks over and wraps his arms around us and squeezes really tight. "OK Park, that's a little tight."
"I just wanna love on my two favourite twins!" He exclaims and starts swaying us back and forth and planting kisses all of Eden's face.
"OK. If you two are going to do the dirty, get out of my room." I warn and shove them off.
"Fine. Nathan's downstairs by the way." Parker announces before dragging Eden into her room. My face twists in disgust and I close the door connecting to the bathroom and open my door and see Nathan about to knock.
I smile. "Hey you."
"Hi." He answer and kisses me. "Get ready because we're going on a date."
"We are?" I ask and he nods his head.
"It occurred to me that we haven't been on a proper date in a while. And well I'll find any excuse to see you." He responds and this makes me smile more and I pull him back in for a kiss. "You need to stop kissing me, otherwise we won't be going very far."
"I'm not complaining." I whisper kissing his jaw.
"Yeah, but I really don't wanna do it under the same roof as your cop mother who has a gun," He answers.
"But that's what makes it so much fun. The danger of getting caught." I playfully respond and he shakes his head with a smirk. "Besides, Eden and Parker are doing it right now."
He raises an eyebrow. "Seriously?"
"Why do you think the doors are shut?" I question and he nods realising. "OK. Give me 10 minutes and I'll change. Can you tell me whether I should dress fancy or casual?"
