Part 15

Toby wakes feeling safe as something soft cocoons the back of him. A sticky gel lay across his arms, chest and legs. It is cool against his exoskeleton. There is a brown patch place on the torso and a bright white patch. The brown patch is a strong pain killer as the other monitor the heart. Mystery held her mobile as her eyes watch the screen.

"Hey" Toby quietly said.

Mystery looks up then at the mobile screen. Her eyes flick between the two. Smiling at him, Mystery speaks in a clam precise manner. "It good to see you are awake. You have been out for eleven minutes."

Shifting up from the elbows a groan came from him as each bruise made itself known.

"Careful you taken a nasty hit; chances there is a definite concussion" Mystery state in her maternal voice.

She move pillows from the chair and place them behind Toby back. Three taps on the door. Mystery sweeps her dress, pulling the shoulder strap of her dress. Opening the door, she step aside allowing Gordon through holding a trey that smell of spices, Toby stomach made itself aware if it was consume its own body to feed the hunger off.

"How are you doing?" Gordon cheerily said.

Toby gives a grin, replying "I am doing alright, just sore."

Placing the trey on Toby lap, taking the lid to revile fluffy white rice smelling of Jasmine and chicken in a thick orange curry; his mouth is watering at the sight of Butter Chicken.

"Thank you!" Joy breaking through the stiff pain.

Scoping the food and shovelling straight into his maw. Mystery wrinkles her nose. Gordon smile show crooked white teeth.

"Slow down you are swallowing air, do you want to bring your dinner up" scowl Mystery.

Another set of knocking. Gordon opens the door reviling Clair and Karen. Clair has a smile that reaches her eyes. The smile could be said that she is holding a secret. Karen however is glowing.

Karen voice can be said in one word. Excitable "We did it!"

Clair wraps Kerens' arm hers, kissing the top of her head. A little less ecstatic as Karen though radiates warmth "Mr Kegg agreed not to merge the companies together."

Karen bounces on the spot "Mr Anderson; thank you so much, and enjoy the rest of your night."

Clair rub Karen hand "We will be going now it is late and early start tomorrow."

Toby almost chokes as he swallows the food down quickly, his voice coming out at croaky "Your welcome."

For a bit Gordon, Mystery and Toby talk for a bit. Once the plate is finish another knock on the door. Mystery opens the door revealing the nurse and Casey.

"Oh hello how can I help you?" Mystery asks.

The nurse gives a charming smile "I am a nurse" she said "I just want to make sure if he is alright."

Mystery still giving a smile; "yes he is fine, thank you for your concern."

Casey stands there her eyes almost looking far away. On the machine that looks like a fancy headband with ear muffs. The light that is green is flashing, it change to yellow.

"It just sometimes how serious a concussion can be and it can happen hours, days later" the nurse pleaded.

Mystery "thank you for your concern, we will organise something."

She tries to close the door, the nurse push back on the door. The nurse speaks with anger "If you just let me examine him I could save time and give you a card if something comes up."
