I quietly walked into the recording room since I heard Chris's voice from outside.

"If you leave this time I fear that you'd be gone for good so I hold on like leaves in the fall to what is left." I heard his talented voice, filling my ears. He opened his mouth to continue singing but he stopped when he saw me through the glass window. I waved at him through the window when he noticed me. He set his headphones to the side and opened the door to greet me. "Hi Niya." he said while watching me. "Hey." He opened his arms for a hug and I happily granted. "Sorry I'm so late. I lost track of time." "No worries. Gave me some time to warm up." "That sounded like a good song." I said while pointing into the glass booth. "Yeah. I'm hoping it will be." "What's the motive for today?" "Well I want to just have a chill sitting and write for today. We'll work on your line in the bridge." "Oh my gosh! You're sure about this know like it's actually happening?!" I squeaked. "Yeah! The world needs to know how talented you are Niya. I know that I originally found you to just help me write but the combination of your flawless vocals and meaningful lyrics are just irresistible for the song." "Wow... I'm just so grateful. I didn't see this coming. When you said you wanted me working on the song, I didn't think it was going to be like this" "It wasn't supposed to be honestly. Initially, I called you in because my manager heard about you being an amazing writer so I wanted some help for the album but once I got to meet and talk to you, I was stunned. You're personality made me want to get to know you further then, you sang to me that one time, when you were correcting me. You're voice... it's flawless. I'm just grateful that I can be the first one to record with you." he admitted.

We spent the day in the recording room making up some lyrics. "So how's this one?" Chris asked while replaying his verse that he roughly recorded. I closed my eyes and listened the lyrics while tapping my pen on my notebook to go with the beat. "Perfect." I said as the verse continued to replay. "But I think you should add a little run like..." I began to do my little run that started off low then gradually got higher. "Nah, I'm not gonna do that run but you are." Chris said. The song was about the issues in a relationship that seemed almost perfect. I guess I got to into the song because some words slipped out of my mouth as the beat played. Chris immediately turned of the track. "Repeat that." Chris said. "Ohh. That just kind of slipped out in the moment." I said shyly. "I heard sum' good." "Fine. Put the instrumental back on." I instructed while clearing my voice preparing myself."You got bare bitches in yo bed but you come here frontin' like I ain't in yo head. I used to be there but then you started trippin' different bitches on the side." I repeated while adding a little run at the end. Chris was silent for a second which made me nervous. Maybe I made it too personal. I questioned my choice of lyrics but suddenly, Chris started smiling and applauding me. "You like it?" I asked. "That's a million dollar line shawty." I couldn't help but smile. Here I am sitting with Chris Brown making my dream become reality. "Thanks so much." I replied while running my hands through my curls. I was still a bit nervous that my part was too personal.

Is this really happening? Just months ago I almost lost myself. I almost lost my life. It was my darkest time. I struggled with myself. I constantly blamed myself for that night. "You're worthless to him. He only did this because you got him bored." I told myself as I laid there crying months ago. But luckily I pulled through with help or else I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't be in this studio finally making something work. I wouldn't be here getting a one in a lifetime chance. I'm truly blessed to be where I am.

"You're something else Niya." Chris spoke while tapping his pen on his chin. "What do you mean?" "How can someone like you be so talented yet so down to earth? I'm surprised that I'm the first one to be able to work with you. I thought you would be like on the top 20 of Billboards by now." He praised with a chuckle. "Hmm," I spun my finger in between two fingers, "I try my best to stay humble throughout everything. Also be thankful for what I have. Up and downs in my life make the best of me. Stay true all the time, never switch sides." I simply answered his question. He smiled with his teeth at my answer. "You really are something else." I shrugged. I looked at my watch. 8:52 - aren't I supposed to be somewhere right now? Deshaun. Shit. I'm already over 4 hours late! From here to his place is a 20 minute drive. I checked my phone for missed calls and surely, I had 2 from Deshaun and one from Ashton.
