Ink sat in the back of the class, along with Error, Fresh, Geno and Alphys. Undyne and a few other jocks sat in the middle row, not even close to paying attention. The teacher was scribbling in cursive over the board in what looked like a language that only teachers could understand. That's how most students felt about cursive. It reminded Ink of when he would go to the doctor, and they'd tell him a bunch of different medication names, and he and his mom would pretend to know and understand, yet it was like taking a Greek lesson. He attempted to copy the notes down, but as he tried, he soon realized that he couldn't even read his own handwriting. He groaned in frustration and put his head down, resting it upon his book. He was tapped on the shoulder, making him look over at Error. he mouthed 'Do you understand any of this?', which his response was a simply shake of the head and mouthed, 'No clue'. The both sighed and Error grumbled under his breath. Ink raised his hand and the teacher turned and called out his name. He quickly signed different symbols, confusing almost the entire class. "Speak properly young man." The teacher growled, making a few of the jocks snicker. He lowered his hands a bit before signing out, 'I can't..." making the teacher even angrier. Geno stood and huffed. "Sir, he's mute and has to resort to sign language. He was simply asking for you to break up the question in simpler terms." He crossed his arms and Ink hugged himself, lowering his head in shame. "O-oh..I do apologize..ahem..of course." He turned back to the board and wrote out more notes. Both Ink and Geno sat down, but Ink was trembling, tears slowly running down his cheeks. Error was about to say something when the intercom blared. "ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF REPORT TO THE GYMNASIUM RIGHT AWAY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL, I REPEAT REPORT TO THE GYMNASIUM-THIS IS NOT A DRILL." Then it shut off. Instantly, chaos erupted. Students jumped out of their seats and ran to the door, pushing it open. Ink and his group ran after them, shoving past everybody. Students and even a few teachers were shooting out of classrooms like bullets, flooding out into the halls and scrambling to get to the gym. Geno was shoved and fell backward, nearly getting trampled by the stampede of students. Ink ran back and dragged him up, gripping his hand and running back to where the brothers and Alphys were. "MOVE IT!" Error shoved Fresh and they scrambled down the hall. Everybody poured into the Gym like a tsunami, crashing into each other. The small group of friends ran into a corner, huddling up to each other to losing one another and getting trampled. "W-W-What's g-going on?" Alphys trembled, frantically looking around. Teachers were shouting ,attempting to control the chaos. Suddenly, a loud honk sounded and a car came barreling through a wall, crushing and killing dozens of students. Loud screams pierced the air as blood quickly pooled. Loud alarms blared from what sounded like everywhere, before static screamed through the air. "ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTLEMAN OF THE COUNTY..I AM HERE TO ANNOUNCE THAT ALL WEAPONS BELOW A CLASS 4 WILL BE LEGALIZED. ALL CRIMES, INCLUDING MURDER WILL BE COUNTED LEGAL FOR A CONTINUOUS 72 HOURS. MAY GOD BE WITH US ALL, AND LET US WELCOME YOU, TO THE PURGE." More static blared before going silent. Instantly, fast, and loud gunshots sounded from the halls and everybody screamed, running out through the doors and into the halls and streets. Ink and his group bolted, running and quickly sprinting to an abandoned hall. More students followed, trampling the small group of monster, splitting them up. Ink was knocked down and he tumbled backward. Geno and Fresh were slammed into a wall and Error and Alphys were knocked into an empty classroom. More students poured in and slammed the door shut, starting to barricade it. Undyne was in the room, pressing tables against the door with a few more students. "NO! THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE THAT GOT SEPARATED! WE NEED TO GET THEM!" Error dragged a table backwards and threw open the door, running out into the hall. "INK?! GENO?! FRESH?! ANYBODY!?" HE screamed, panic coursing through him like a wildfire. Gunshots sounded and a handful of people went collapsing like rag dolls. Geno came sprinting forward, clinging onto Error. "I-I LOST FRESH! H-HE VANISHED I-INTO THE CROWD!" He sobbed hysterically. "cmon, get in!" He shoved Geno into the room, who scurried in with the others. More students went down and he had no choice but to run into the room. He, Undyne and another jock he recognized as Swapfell slammed tables and chairs against the door. He quickly ran over to Alphys and Geno, sliding down next to him. "Did any of you get hit? A-Are you okay??" He was still panicking, his chest heaving as he gulping down air. "N-no..w-we're f-f-fine.." Alphys stuttered. "We're gonna fucking DIE here!" Undyne roared, starting to pace back and forth. Alphys flinched and Geno whimpered. Swapfell got up and gripped Undyne's shirt. "Hey asshole! Mind giving us a little hope that we aren't going to be hit with a fucking car like my boyfriend did!? HE DIDN'T DESERVE THAT FUCKING END!" He roared. Undyne shoved him back. "AND THAT's MY FAULT!?" She growled. "NOT MY FAULT HE DIED!" Swapfell punched her across the jaw. "TAKE THAT BACK YOU SORRY SON OF A BITCH!" He trembled, tears running down his face. He spit blood out and glared up at him. "Why don't you go join him then? I'm sure there are plenty more 2015 Fords to get hit by.." She growled. Swapfell leaped onto her and punched her again. She kicked him off and tackled him. "S-S-STOP I-I-IT!" Everybody froze and all turned to Alphys, who trembled and stood. "H-how i-i-is this g-going to h-help a-any of u-us? W-We need t-to g-g-g-et out of h-here...o-or g-get supplies t-to set up s-some sort of b-base h-here..." She glared. Undyne shoved Swapfell away and stood up. "Alphys is right..we can't attack ourselves like animals..we need to work together.." She glanced at the door. There was a familiar voice and Geno and Error scrambled to look through the window on the door. Goth was huddled over Palette's limp body, a bullet hole smoking from his arm, head and chest, his body twitching slightly. Goth sobbed and clung to Palette, blood pooling underneath them.A gunshot rang out and Goth fell forward limply, a hole in his back. "GOTH!!" Error shrieked and slammed his fist against the door. Geno teleported out and into the hall, summoning a blaster and shooting whoever had the gun. He fell to his knees, and held Goth, who coughed blood and gasped for air, tears streaming down his face. "G-get out of here..i-i won't m-make it..s-so go.." Goth wheezed and blinked slowly. "I'M NOT LEAVING YOU TO DIE HERE!" Geno screamed. "s-shh...i'll be fine...just....j-just promise me t-that...*cough* you'll make it o-out of here a-alive...t-three d-days i-is all you n-need..." He mumbled. "S-stop it...y-you a-aren't going t-to die.." Geno hiccuped. "G-geno..quit l-lying to yourself..y-you know I won't last 5 minutes.." He muttered, his eyes becoming heavy. Geno stiffled a sob, tears dropping onto Goth's chest. "H-hey...o-o-one more f-favor...c-can you p-put b-by P-Pally...I-I want him to b-be the last thing I-I see and touch b-before w-we dust.." He coughed and smiled softly at Geno. Geno gently set Goth next to Palette, and Goth gripped onto Palette's hand. "L-love y-you Pally..." He whispered. "T-thanks G-gen...f-for e-e-everything.." HE slowly closed his eyes before going completely limp. Soon, both he and Palette dusted, nothing but their clothes and a pile of dust remaining. Geno sobbed and cursed, damning the world. Error gripped his shoulder and teleported the both of them back into the room. "w-we really a-are going to die.." Geno mumbled, hiccuping and leaning on Error. "N-no...we will survive through this damn thing...all of us.." He murmured..yet he knew that that was most likely a lie..but he had to try...for his brothers...for Ink...and for the friends that he already lost not even an hour ago. For everybody..
