Jane went through the phone book.

wheeler.
Jane put the numbers in.
"hello! it's the wheelers!" a lady said
"um..i..is mike available?"
"yeah i'll get him for you"
Jane heard the lady call mike's name even though it was distant.
"hello?" mike said
Jane gulped, "uh hi mike!"
"oh hey Jane!"
"um..i..was wondering if you'd wanna..um have dinner at my house?"
mike rolled his eyes, "sure!" he said.
"okay see you till then..i mean at school tomorrow." Jane said and smiled.
"ok well bye!" mike said and hung up
Jane totally forgot about the arcade and went downstairs to ask her mom.
"hey mom can i go to the arcade with mike?" Jane asked Joyce
"sure sweetie just be back at home when your finished."
"oooh, do you like mike?" will said smirking.
"what no!" Jane said lying and went back to her room.
(btw this is at 5pm after school)
she called max and just talked to her for awhile

"who was that?" dustin said as mike hung up the phone
"Jane."
"who? lucas said
"Jane byers."
"will's sister?" lucas said
"yeah.." he said rolling his eyes
"why the hell are you talking to Jane byers?" dustin asked in disgust
"yesterday troy said nobody would ever love me so i'm gonna prove him wrong by making el fall in love with me."
dustin and lucas both looked at eachother
"you can't do that to Jane mike." dustin said.
mike frowned in anger. "why not."
"because.. Jane..she's already been through enough. And when she falls in love with you and you crush her heart it will be bad." lucas said
"i'm gonna keep doing it though. it won't be that bad."
"what if you fall in love with her?" dustin asked
"that's not gonna happen mike said
"but what i-"
"that's not gonna happen." mike said and sat by them to play D&D.

Jane had her favorite shirt on and a long skirt on. she even brushed her hair in a bun.
Jane then heard a knock at the door. Jane raced downstairs and opened the door to see mike. mike hugged her but as soon as he realized what he was doing he quietly stopped hugging her. "i..um can i come in?" said mike as his face was really red.
"yeah!" el said and moved out the way so he could come in.
Joyce said, "dinner will be ready in 20 minutes!!"
Jane said they could be in her room till then.
mike agreed and they headed to Jane's room.
"sooooo.." mike said as he examined Jane's room
"WANNA SEE MY COLLECTION OF ROCKS!?" Jane blurted out and instantly regretted saying that.
mike smiled. a real smile and said, "sure."
Jane took it out of her drawer and told him all the different type of rocks she had collected over the years.
"i've had this one for awhile....oh and this one is my favorite..i love this one too."
"GUYS DINNER TIME!!" Joyce called from downstairs.
Jane took a brave move. she took mike's hand and walked downtown holding hands, as soon as her mother saw she let go of his hand. mike blushed and so did Jane.
Mike was felling really guilty about using Jane. he was starting to like her. not love, but like. Mike sat down by Jane and Joyce.
"where's will?" Jane said as she was eating her green beans
"Oh he's at the arcade. he told me he wouldn't be back by dinner time." Joyce said
"oh okay" Jane said
"I have to use that bathroom, i'll be back soon."
Jane was getting nervous and just kissed mike.
mike got startled but kissed her back.
Jane then backed away and said, "i'm so sorry..i di-didn't mean to do that.. I mean i did but like-"
"Jane it's okay."
"phew!" she said "i bet you think i'm stupid or something."
"No. Never. Your the smartest person i know."
Jane blushed and said, "your the cutest person i know." "i mean your not.. i mean you are but um.."
Mike broke the conversation with another kiss and as soon as Joyce came back he felt really guilty. he knew that he would definitely break Jane's heart.
authors note: okay!! so um i just figured out a ending for this book and it's gonna be sad :'(
