All to quickly the seminar week was over. Anne was quite amazed at the amount of people who had attended the hall. That was the busiest it had been for a long time and it was thanks to the GAC team who had pulled in more people than they had ever had.
She had enjoyed seeing everyone interact with the students, but what she loved most of all was how Zak made everyone feel special as he spoke to them. Often she found herself watching him from across the room as student after student came up and spoke to him. Sometimes he would catch her looking at him and smile in her direction. When he did her breath caught in her throat as she recalled the times they had snuck off during the seminar to her office where they enjoyed the ultimate cardinal sin, knowing that anyone could walk in at a moments notice. After spending three weeks getting to know each other personally she realised that she was falling for the paranormal investigator. But instead of feeling elated, her heart sunk. She was a professor in Cardiff and he was a famous paranormal celebrity. Nothing could happen between them, she knew that. But her stupid heart wouldn't let her push the feelings away. With every touch, smile, kiss and conversation they shared her love grew but her head knew it was not going to work.
As he looked up at her he could see sadness in her eyes. Excusing himself from the students who had come to speak to them on the last day he made his way over to Anne. Touching her arm he made her look at him,
"Are you ok?" He asked as the sadness stayed in her eyes.
"I'm fine." She said as she rested her hand on his own. "Just thinking of what will happen now." He looked at her and realised what had put that look in her eyes.
"You mean, what will happen with us?" He said as she nodded, "Well why don't we take it one day at a time." He didn't want to let her go, but he knew there time was short. "We still have a couple of days together so lets make the most of it." Nodding she looked at her watch and realised the seminar was now officially over. Looking up she noticed students leaving the hall while those who had volunteered were helping to dismantle the booths with the guests.
"Do you want to have dinner with me tonight?" She asked him as he took her hand in his to place a kiss on the back of her hand,
"Yes I would love too." He said as he pulled her in for a bittersweet kiss.

The last couple of days they spent together was perfect. They spent all their time together while the others went off to be tourists in the city. She had even taken him to a football game between Cardiff and Swansea which was something he could not get over. Especially how passionate the fans were.
However, now they were at the airport waiting for the guys flight to come in. No one, not even the fans, had bothered them as Anne had stayed in his arms the entire time they waited. She didn't want him to leave and it took all her energy not to fall on her hands and knees to beg him to stay with her. He had his life in America and she had her life here. There was thousands of miles of sea and land between them.
"You know I'm only a phone call away." He said as he brushed back the tears that had escaped her eyes. He was feeling quite emotional himself but he kept it in check so he could comfort her.
"I know but it won't be the same." She said as she buried her head into his chest so he wouldn't see the tears that continued to flow down her face. But he heard the sob in her voice. As their flight was called he lifted her head up so he could stare into her blue eyes one last time before they left. Smiling he bent down and kissed her before he pulled away.
"I won't ever forget you Professor Lake. Until the day I die you will be right here." He said lifting her hand to place it where his heart was beating slowly. "If ever you are in Las Vegas you know where I will be." He said as he walked way from her, their hands stretched out until finally his fingers fell from her hands. As he walked through the gate he turned once more to look back at her before he entered the corridor to the plane. Only now did he let his own tears fell as Aaron gave him a one armed hug.
