Quick A/N: this is a story that I'm so very proud of, so don't hate it please. The only reason it took me so long to write it is because I had so many endings in my head to write down, so if you were expecting something different, then I'm sorry. Also, this plot was requested by Siniora-Chan

Your POV
I didn't know I was going to arrest the most wanted criminal on my first day. At least until I had gotten into the car, that is. I've just started my new job as a detective, and everyone was shocked I even made to this ranking let alone made my way into finishing the required training for said rank.
It wasn't easy to get this rank, either. Don't even get me started on the lack of respect of others that wanted my job. It was hard to keep the job you love and deal with people you hate, but you gotta deal with it, right? There isn't much you can do in a situation like that other than suck it up and deal with it until the day is done and you're all set to finally go home.
The call was made when I had gotten my first call for a homicide. That's when I realized that the person who murdered the family was none other than the most wanted criminal in the world, Zebra.
It was hard to find him, since he had many places to hide and go to. This made it hard and very fun to look for him, which didn't take long for me to find him. It was only three hours of searching when we caught him. He was trying to hide in a basement, to which the doors were too small for him in the first place.
"You're arresting the wrong guy," Zebra muttered under his breath so only I could head it. I raised an eyebrow as I said his rights, putting the hand cuffs onto his hands. I didn't reply as I watched him get into the car, which was something that came a bit too easy for me.
I thought the whole thing would go down totally different than how it was. I thought it was going to be a bit more ... I don't know ... Difficult? I mean, Zebra just came easily, making me wonder if he even did the crime in the first place.
When I opened the wide double doors, with Zebra in front of me, the crowd of police officers cheered for me as they screamed my name. I gave them all a nervous smile as I looked around at the decorated main office, letting two other (and also very strong) officers take Zebra away. Before they took him away, the man whispered into my ear.
"I know you know that it wasn't me," was all he said. I frowned but said nothing, watching as he was taken away from me. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair before turning towards the other officers, giving them a fake smile. I then took Zebra out of my mind.
I'll think about him later.
***
I was doing rounds for the night, checking on all of the inmates and their roommates. Zebra was last, though, as he was the only one without a roommate. He was too dangerous for one, anyway.
I then peeked into the cell, looking around. All the others decorated their cell walls with pictures of loved ones or small little things like dream catchers and other things. But, for reasons unknown, Zebra refused to do the same. I was always afraid to ask him why, but I think he knows that. Why he won't bring it up so I won't have to is beyond me.
Biting my lip, I revealed my entire body, starting anywhere other than him. I was the only one who would visit him, not counting the checking rounds either. I sighed nervously before clearing my throat. Zebra then moved slightly, showing me his ear to say he was listening.
"I-It's time to turn off the lights and for sleep," I said, furring my eyebrows at the lack of movement from the male. For the past two weeks, Zebra has been telling me things about his life outside of the jail walls. He would answer a few questions before going silent once more, making me slightly upset that he doesn't trust me fully yet.
