"Did you get the cake?" My mom asked for the thousandth time.
I roll my eyes and let out a breath "Yes mom I got the cake, for the last time." I mumble the last part.
"What you say?" She asks immediately switching her tone from excitement to threatening.
"Nothing" I say wide eyed.
"Mm don't get punched, I'll snatch yo blackass through this phone" She said.
I know its not possible but somehow I'm still scared. I wouldn't put anything past a black mom.
"How long till you get here?" She asks, getting excited again.
I smile "I'm coming up the street now, I should be there in about three minutes."
"Alright, you got your keys or do I need to unlock the door?"
"I got em, I'll see you when I get there" I say turning into our property.
"Alright, bye baby"
"Bye momma"
I hung up and started my drive up the long ass driveway. I guess you could say my family is wealthy. With my mom being a well known west coast lawyer and my dad being a business man, I always grew up around money.
And I meant the term business man as in actual business man, he runs a software company and has other side things with his partners with Pc's itself. I honestly don't know I just know it's some good quality things.
Another thing I should include is we've had our fair share of magazine covers. I guess we are a good looking family. Well, they are I'm pretty average if you ask me. In everything really. My mom is a lawyer, my dad is crazy smart with several businesses, and my brother is a rapper who just finished a world tour.
And I am a 21 year old with a bachelor's degree in phycology, like I said...average.
Pulling up I can already see the chaos my mom calls party planning. I see workers scrambling all over the place in a frantic manner. Probably because my mom screamed them to death.
Oh Lord.
I park my car and close my eyes saying a short silent prayer cause I already know this woman is going to stress me the hell out.
I get out and go to the passenger seat to get the cake that was strapped in cause I would be dead in something happened to it. I go to the unlock the front door and as expected, nothing.
My mom never hosts big parties in the house when everybody coming isn't part of the family they're always in the back yard so she doesn't have a bunch a people roaming her house.
I walk to the kitchen to see my dad in his glasses, on his tablet doing what looks like to be reading something.
"Hey old man" I say casually while putting the cake in the fridge.
He looks up and smiles "Hey Mr. Clean" I suck my teeth and roll my eyes.
"Dad you know that don't even make sense no more cause my hair long now" He shrugs.
"Don't change the fact that when you were two yo ponytail wasn't even as long as my pinky."
"I was two" I deadpanned.
"And?"
"That's why you can't see now, anyway you want a hug or not?"
"Man come on and hurry up, I'm busy" I roll my eyes and go over to hug him and he hugs me back for awhile. Then this fool shrugs me off and shoo's me away.
