"Gosh, there she goes again..." Lucas mused, shaking his head unenthusiastically at very exhilarated looking Song Yuqi who was busy craning her neck to catch a glimpse of Jung Jaehyun who just walked into the cafeteria with his classmate Johnny and Taeyong.
Soyeon gave him a nonchalant shrug before casually said, "Believe me, I've seen worse..." Lucas raised his eyebrows, his head tilted in interest as he listened. "She used to follow him around like a lovesick puppy, we even considered to disown her..." Soyeon continued again in a rather loud tone to catch Yuqi's attention but the latter didn't even bat an eyelid, she was busy waving her hand at Jaehyun with a dreamy expression.
"Yah! You used to be his stalker?" Lucas nudged her arm, trying to divert her attention from Jaehyun. She ignored him. "Ok. Stop waving at him. He noticed us already..." He pulled her waving arm down. She turned to face him with a menacing look. "What? I'm saving your ass from a further embarrass— ouch!!!" Lucas yelped in pain the moment she kicked him right the shin.
"Serves you right!" she retorted.
Lucas was about to retort back but Jaehyun interrupted him. "Hello princess..." Jaehyun greeted her playfully as he flopped down on the empty seat on their table. Yuqi beamed happily at him while a moment ago she looked ready to pounce him. Lucas rolled his eyes while caressing his sore shin. "What happens to your leg?" Jaehyun asked him, looking curious.
"Why don't you ask the princess over there?" he cocked his head at Yuqi. She blinked innocently at him.
"Did you two fight again?" Jaehyun asked them with an amused expression.
"No, he just bumped his shin against the chair..." Yuqi replied to him. The latter glanced at him, but before Lucas could argue she continued again, "Oppa, do you have basketball practice later?" she asked Jaehyun with a sugary sweet tone, Lucas gave her a cringy look. She ignored him.
"No, I don't. We have a group project this week, so we're going to focus on the project for time being..." Jaehyun replied to her. Lucas sipped the remaining of his coffee, not particularly surprised about the news. Unlike him and the girls who still in their sophomore year, Jaehyun and the others were already in their senior year. "Besides we had a reliable junior now..." Jaehyun patted Lucas on the shoulder. "You had practice today right?" Jaehyun asked him. Lucas nodded.
"Yah! What with that disappointed expression?" Lucas asked her, feeling offended.
"So, are you going home early today?" she asked Jaehyun again, ignoring his question.
"Yup, let's go back together lat—" Jaehyun stopped talking when Johnny put a Mango and shrimp salad in front of him. "Thanks, bro..."
"Wait, they have that in the menu?" Yuqi asked him, staring at delicious looking shrimp.
"Oh, you don't know?" Johnny was the one who answered her question. She shook her head cutely.
"They had this since—" Jaehyun words interrupted again by an incoming call ringtone. "Oh, Miyeon-ah...Now?" Jaehyun answered the phonecall. Lucas noticed her expression changed when Jaehyun mentioned the caller's name. "Ok. See you there..." Jaehyun said again before he hung up.
"Why?" Jhonny asked him.
"Miyeon said she needs me in the library..." Jaehyun answered as he rose from his seat. Lucas took a glance at Yuqi again, she was shipping her drink, pretend to be unbothered. "Oh! Yuqi, sorry we can't go back together today..."
"It's okay oppa, don't worry about me..." she sported him a fake reassuring smile. Lucas stared at her, concerned.
"Ah, what should I do with this?" Jaehyun mused while staring at his untouched-lunch. "You like shrimp, right?" He asked Yuqi again. She nodded, absentmindedly. Jaehyun smiled and continued again, "Great! You should finish it for me..."
Her expression brightened again, "Sure..."
"Ok then, see you later guys..." Jaehyun bid them goodbye.
As he walked away from their table, Lucas noticed Yuqi was staring at his back until he disappeared from the exit door, looking grim and solemn. "Woah, this looks yummy..." Lucas mused loudly while fishing out one of the shrimp from his seat, trying to reverse her sullen mood. "Hyung you should try this one! This is good..." he offered it to Ten and Yuta who just joined them. Both of them accepted his offer with glee.
"Yah! That's mine!" Yuqi exclaimed, trying to pull the half-eaten salad away from them.
"Oh, come on love, sharing is caring..." Lucas mused while munching the food, feeling relieved that she was becoming her feisty-self again. "I thought you don't want it anymore—"
She got up from her chair all of sudden. "You're so annoying..." She mused and stomped her way out of the cafeteria.
"What's with her?" Ten asked him, confused.
"No idea, probably period.." Lucas shrugged, pretending not to know the reason behind her sudden cranky mood.
He continued to dig up the remaining of the salad until Soyeon pulled the plate away from him. "Stop eating Xuxi..."
"What?" Soyeon and Minnie gave him an unimpressed look. Lucas let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine. I'll go and look for the sulking princess..." He muttered as he got up from his seat.
