I don't care what people say, size does matter. It matters with the amount of fluids you take in, with your BMI size, and with the size of portions you are eating. See! Size matters.
When people look at overweight people they judge them because of their size. Even overweight people judge other overweight people. We all think our situation is different so 'we' have an excuse for being big.
One day, I was loading food in my car after shopping, two guys walked by. One of them said, looking at me, "What about her?" The second guy screwed up his face in disgust and replied, "No man! She is too big!" It stung. At the time I was a size eighteen. Imagine what he would say today, I am a size twenty-six! So see, size does matter.
We all moan and groan about wanting to be in better shape and loose a few pounds, but rarely act on it — at least that's true if you're me. In addition to traditional weight loss techniques, there has been a lot of research aiming to discover the leading causes of obesity. One of them is varying plate size.
A connection has been linked in a correlation between larger plate sizes in our restaurants and the growing obesity rate. Imagine that! It may seem obvious, but if we're giving more space, based on plate size, for food we want to fill it up, and we eat it all. In order to avoid this, using smaller plates seems to be the answer.
The point is, eat less - loose weight.
Yesterday, I was stopped at a red light and a group of teens pulled up beside me. They started making comments about my weight. One of them said I wasn't thick... I am 'extra' thick. Then they proceeded to yell things at me. Ugh. I turned and gave them the evil eye. It made them laugh. The light changed and they sped off laughing their heads off. Rude. But it proves that to the world, we'll, me, that size matters.
Okay. I am not loosing weight for anyone except myself. I am doing it for my health. I want to feel better and to be able to breath as I move around.
Today's goals: eat smaller portions while moving more.
Track BP, it was 137/133 107, and glucose, which was 204. Hopefully, by the end of the 90 days, both numbers will be lower and more under control.
