The other day I woke up with extremely high blood pressure and sugar, plus I had gained weight back. Ugh! What was I doing wrong? I was failing at saving my own life.

I scheduled a doctor's appointment so I could discuss my failure with my doctor. Four hours after I scheduled the appointment someone called me back and said they had to cancel it and reschedule me on a different day, twenty-six days later. What the what?!

I had a pause in my weight loss routine. We had to rush a family member to the hospital. They are home now but still under care.

Anyway, I slipped off my diet. Blood Pressure and sugar we're higher than before and I started having chest pains. Ugh. One day I woke up to find that someone we knew, close to my age, had passed away. I knew if I did get myself together I would be next.

I started buckling down. A friend, who needs to lose weight as well, referred to me an app their doctor shared with them with me. Noom. I have been using this app to track my food choices, weight, glucose readings, blood pressure readings, and exercises. On a daily basis, the app shares nutritional facts with me and weight loss lessons to help me learn what keeps me motivated and what hinders me. I love it. I am still struggling but so far I have lost a total of fourteen pounds.

I rollercoaster with control and sticking within my calorie intake but I am fighting the good fight and looking forward to removing another fourteen pounds.

Don't give up! Keep moving!

There are going to be good days on this journey. There are going to be bad days too. There are even going to be 'why did I do that' days. We have to pick ourselves up on the bad days and strive - pushing ourselves, towards our goals. When we make a mistake or stumble, we have to switch gears and get back on the right path. To stumble is okay, we all do it.

Surround yourself with Bible verses, weight loss, and victory quotes, along with uplifting music to help keep you focused and centered.

If you have a friend to help pick you up when you fall, wonderful! If not, be your own friend. Remember why you started on this journey in the first place and redirect your focus. Do it for you!

Mistakes show us where we need to redirect our attention and goals. They reveal our weaknesses and our strengths. Seeing our weaknesses gives us an advantage to learn and grow so we don't make the same mistakes again - or less of them.

Embrace your fears and let them propel you forward into your future.
