"I don't know, Skylar. Maybe I should come with you." Nicole was on the other end of the phone.

After I told her that I was going out to run errands, she started her protective mode, just like Julie and was offering to come with me.

"I'll be fine." I reassured. "I just have to pick up a few things." No big deal.

I heard her sigh over the phone. "Ok. Does Julie know?"

"Know what?"

"That you're going out.. alone."

I roll my eyes. "No, but I'll call her."

"You better. If she finds out that I let you go alone, I'm dead." She panicked.

I laughed as I placed the watch on my wrist. "I'll attend your funeral. Which song to you want me to play first?"

"Shut up." She said. There was a few noises behind her. "I gotta go. Bye, Skylar. Be careful and call me!"

We hung up after that, then I grabbed my keys and made sure I had everything before I left.

I locked the door then walked to my car and got in. I made sure to place my seat belt over me before backing out of the driveway and onto the road.

I really haven't been out anywhere since, especially by myself. Julie would always do things if we needed some stuff, or we'd go places together.

My first time alone in over a week.

Julie didn't go to work for a few days since then. Sometimes she'd go then take a few days off. I kept telling her that it was ok, but she would just tell me that it wasn't and that she would stay here with me.

Since this was a new week, I begged her to go back to work and not to miss anymore work. When I say that I begged, I literally begged like my life depended on it.

There was no need for her to stay out anymore. I told her that I was fine. I'd lock the doors. Hide under the bed if necessary.

It took some time, but I finally persuaded her. She was still a little worried, but she finally let her guard down.

I just haven't told her that I was running errands today.

Going by the bank first, I withdrawn some money out before heading over to the grocery store. I knew we needed some things and I made sure what those things were before I left.

After I parked, I walked inside the store and grabbed a cart. I had a list on my phone, so I was trying to get that up as I was walking around.

I grabbed a few things that were in the first aisles. Not sure why, but it's like when you go to the grocery store, you always have this certain pattern you follow.

Everyone I know is like that. You start with the furthest aisle on the right, once you walk in, then you go down every aisles.

It mostly works on people who have some serious shopping to do. If some people just come in here for a few items, then they don't use the system like everyone else uses.

As I grabbing things that I needed, I started erasing them from my phone so I wouldn't get confused.

I walked out of the aisle and instantly ran into someone else's cart. I slightly smiled. "I'm so sorry." I look to see that Todd was standing there smiling. "Oh.. hey." I said nervously.

"Hey, Skylar." He smiles. "I haven't seen you in over a week. How are you?"

I shrugged then leaned on my cart. "I'm doing ok. How are you?" I wanted to ask about his brother, but decided against it.

Nodding, he sighed. "Could be better."

"What's wrong?"

He shrugs. "Ever since Ana went to.. wherever she went, things really haven't been great."

"How come?" I ask. "She's out of your life now."

Nodding, he looks around for a moment. "I don't know.. my brother ended up in jail but my dad blames me for everything and it's just too much to handle.

I watched him. "I'm sorry to hear that."

"It's fine."

We talked a little longer then said our goodbyes. I ended up finishing my shopping before checking out.

I was more than ready to get home, but I was super relieved to know that his brother was in jail and there was no way for him to come after me.

Maybe my life will finally go back to normal.
