"Julie?" I ask as I enter the bedrooom. She was changing out of her clothes, then turns towards me with only her bra and jeans on.
She smiles. "Hey, baby."
I walk over to the bed and sit down. "I need to talk to you." I watch as she pulls a shirt on then turns to me.
"What?" She asks.
Sighing, I stare at the floor. I knew it was time to tell her about all this sleep shit. I just wasn't sure how she was going to handle it.
It didn't seem that bad, but Julie overreacts over a lot of things. Some small things that doesn't need a react like she gives it. She worries a lot about everything that happens to me. "I don't know how it started, but I haven't been sleeping good."
She watches me for a moment. "What do you mean?"
I shrugged. "I don't know how to explain it, but I wake up during the night and can't go back to sleep. It doesn't happen every night, but it happens a lot."
Watching her, she sits down next to me and looks at me. "Why didn't you tell me before?"
"I didn't want you to worry." I shrugged.
She stares at me for a moment. "It doesn't matter if I worry or not, I want to know everything, Skylar." She watches me. "Do you think it's insomnia?"
"I don't know." I couldn't think of what it could be.
"Do you think sleeping pills would work?"
I sighed. "Maybe or maybe not. I hate to take pills for it. Like I said, it only happens a few times. Not every night."
My sleeping problems doesn't bother me that much. Only sometimes and it gets to me, but most of the time it doesn't even cross my mind that much.
Julie kept telling me about what I could do to help my sleeping problem, and although I love that she cares, I'd rather not take sleeping pills or do methods to help, because I don't think it will help.
"You need to start waking me up when you wake up." She said.
I sighed. "I stay up mostly all night. I don't want to wake you if you have to work the next morning."
She grabs my hand and looks at me. "Baby, I don't care. I want to be right here when you can't sleep."
Caressing my cheek, I leaned my head against her palm and smiled. "I love you."
"I love you too." She gently kisses me, leaving me breathless every time.
-
The night went pretty good. I was sleepy when it was time for bed, and Julie was near me throughout the whole night.
She wouldn't leave my side. It was cute but I kept telling her that she didn't need to do that. She needed to sleep even when I wasn't.
Of course she argued about it, but I didn't want to start an argument t0night, so I just left it alone.
"Skylar," Julie whispers as we were both laying in bed. I look over at her as she had her eyes shut. "are you sleepy, baby?"
Smiling, I stared at her face. "Yes." I lied.
"Promise?" She held her pinky out without opening her eyes.
Wrapping my pinky around her, I brought her hand up to my lips and kissed it. "I promise."
After a few minutes, she ended up falling asleep and I knew that I might not be getting any sleep tonight like I hope I would.
Laying there, tossing and turning was nothing but a routine. I'd lay on my bed, stare at the ceiling, then it wouldn't help.
I'd turn over on my side, watch Julie sleep, then nothing.
Groaning, I wanted to fucking knock myself out so bad. This was stupid. I hated this so much. Why is this happening to me?
Crossing my arms, I laid on my bed, closed my eyes and just laid there. Not moving and breathing very slowly.
Finally, after several minutes, I finally drifted off to sleep.
