Jo wakes up the next morning, feeling like she's floating. Her head is on Dart's chest and her braid must have come undone last night, because her hair is a wild mess. He is still asleep and is looking relaxed and young. She loves him so much and feels blessed to be here with him, in his bed and in his arms.
Yesterday was magical, satisfying, tender, unbelievable, she can't find the right word for it. He was very considerate and completely in control of his own desires. She was really impressed by him. He thought of her first the entire time. She had always believed every man out there would lose control at some point. That it was just nature. But Dart was in control and in tune with her feelings, like he could read her mind. Panic tried taking over a few times, but he knew exactly what to say and what to do to chase it away.
She feels the tears build up in her eyes, but not because she is sad this time. It's because she is overwhelmed by the love, her love for him and his love for her. She even feels it when he's asleep, holding her close. She tries to swallow all the tears down, but one manages to roll down her cheek and lands on his chest.
He opens his eyes abruptly and he brushes the hair out of her face. He looks her over with sleepy eyes and she can tell he's worried. As soon as she looks up at him, he can clearly see the tears in her eyes and his expression becomes even more worried. But she smiles at him, shaking her head, not able to speak yet from all the emotions. She takes a deep breath and struggles to find her voice.
She speaks softly. "I am not sad. I'm overwhelmed by it all. It just has to come out. I love you more than I ever thought I could love someone. Thank you for yesterday. Thank you for loving me."
The tears stream down her face as she smiles, before snuggling up to him. Dart pulls her close, hiding his face in her hair, feeling overwhelmed by it all himself. This woman is all he will ever need to be happy, she heals him in so many ways. She gave herself to him last night, mind, body and soul, something he has never experienced before. They came together in a way, that was so much more than just physical. And then to know how she feels about it all, that she is just as overwhelmed as he is, is incredible. He wipes a tear from his own cheek and speaks softly.
"I thank God for granting me you. I have no clue what I did to deserve you, but I will be thankful for you every day for the rest of my life. Last night was incredible to me too on so many levels. It was the best thing I ever felt, did, experienced. I never knew it could be this way. Thank you for loving me, Jo."
Jo sighs happily and draws circles on his chest with her finger, listening to his heartbeat in sync with her own. Dart plays with her hair, wrapping a curl around his finger and letting it go to watch it jump up. They lay there, perfectly happy and relaxed, until Canelle jumps on the bed, complaining loudly about the lack of food and attention. Jo laughs and scratches Canelle's head, while Dart grumbles at the cat. "Next time we will close the door, this boy is way too jealous and you make it worse by petting him like that."
Jo chuckles and sits up in the bed, looking at him with a sparkle in her eyes. "I have more than enough love inside of me to keep you both happy. Besides I can't resist petting a pretty guy."
She rubs Dart's head with a cheeky smile, making him laugh too. She reaches down to grab her panties and gets up to put them on. Dart lets out a disappointed sigh. She giggles and walks over to his closet, pulling out one of his t-shirts and putting it on. He sits up and stares at her as she walks out of the room, Canelle rushing after her. He smiles to himself, because she sure looks good in his shirt.
He gets up to join her in the kitchen, getting a nice view, as she bends over to put food in the bowls for the cats. He stands still, staring at her happily, while she gets up real slow and looks at him over her shoulder. He blushes slightly because she caught him staring at her.
