Chapter 15 - Emotion

Jo wakes up first and hops into the shower, making sure everything is shaven and taken care of. Dirk texted her early this morning, telling her he wanted to keep the momentum going from the photoshoot he did with her. So he wants to start with the scene where Dart finds her on the roof. Dart doesn't know yet and she is dead set on trying to keep it a secret, so she told Dirk that Dart won't know about it.

Dirk promised her make-up and clothes will all be there for her. And that Monica will be there to help her out, so she doesn't have to be stressed about having to work with someone she doesn't know. She actually feels pretty excited about it, she really wants to step out into the light. 

She gets out of the shower and brushes her teeth, scrolling through the news on her phone. And then she sees the picture of her and Dart kissing last night, in front of the restaurant. She smiles and reads the article that comes with it. They probably spoke to some people in the restaurant or the staff, because it has quite a few details about how in love they looked. And how Dart only had eyes for her. She blushes as she reads on, the reporter talking about how gorgeous she is and how he gets that Dart is completely into her.

Dart is standing in the door frame, looking at the emotions on her face. He got up to show her the article and to see how it made her feel, but he knows she is reading it right now. And even though he was a bit worried, it's clear to see there is nothing to worry about. Jo has fully accepted it all and even seems happy about it. 

Oh but now she is blushing and looks a bit shy. She probably reached the last part of the article and he steps into the bathroom, wrapping his arms around her. "I guess my plan worked. People are jealous of me." 

Jo smiles at him in the mirror. "Hmm, yes it looks that way. But only because the reporter is a straight man." She laughs and searches the internet for a woman's point of view. She smiles wickedly and shows Dart. "See? How did that average girl score a sexy guy like that?" Dart reads on and looks at Jo a bit scared, this article has nothing nice to say about Jo. The comments are all very mean. But Jo? She surprises him yet again and looks at him all proud. "Ha! See? Jealous of me!" She kisses Dart and then walks out to get dressed, leaving Dart with a smile on his lips.

Jo puts on a dress and her army boots, just to be comfortable. She will probably be in a different dress soon. She is glad that Dart still doesn't know about it and braids her hair, humming softly. Dart walks in naked and still a bit wet. She stares at him happily. He winks at her and gets dressed quickly. "Are you coming to set today Jo? Or do you have other plans?" 

She walks up to him and hugs him, saying: "I am coming with you. Not missing a second of you in a suit." He laughs and kisses her, before walking out the door, while holding her hand.

As they walk out of the front door, the camera's flash and Jo is scared for a second. But Dart squeezes her hand and they get into the cab, already waiting for them outside. Once inside Dart says: "Yeah, after last night, they know I am here. And they know I am not alone. So they will show up more often from now on. I'm sorry." 

Jo stares out of the window, thinking about it for a second. "It's okay. I will get used to it. And it's good for the campaign if we appear together in the press, right? Besides, as long as I am with you, I will be fine." Dart leans in for a soft kiss, feeling so much pride and love for her, that it overwhelms him. Jo notices the change in him and strokes his cheek, not saying a word to give him time. 

He smiles slightly and nods at her. "Thank you for that." They arrive at the building and Dart walks around the car to open the door, holding her close as they walk past more cameras and into the building.

The designer is waiting for them inside and Jo's worried he will tell Dart about the schedule for today, but he winks at her, without Dart seeing it. He congratulates them on the pictures from last night and says it is good for the campaign. He sends Dart off to go change, promising he will bring Jo to the roof. Dart kisses her and walks off and the designer turns to her.
