“Abby!” I heard Malia scream.

I put my phone onto my bed before walking out of my room. I stood at the top of the steps and saw Malia hugging someone. When they pulled apart the girl leaned in and kissed her. That’s when I knew who our guest was.

“Michael, this is Abby,” Malia announced.

“Hi Michael,” the girl smiled and gave me a wave.

I waved back before walking down the steps and into the kitchen. I opened the fridge and pulled out the bottle of Coke. I set the bottle on the counter before grabbing a glassing and filling it.

“You alright Mike?” Ashton asked, entering the kitchen.

“Fine,” I mumbled the took another mouthful of my drink.

“C’mon man. What’s up?” he asked with a sort of smile.

“Malia’s girlfriend’s here,” I shrugged.

“So?”

I had to think quickly, “we’re going to have to sit next to them while they eat each other’s faces, listen to them giggle all the time and just be annoying,” I replied.

“Malia really loves Abby. Or so she says,” he told me.

“Whatever man. I don’t care,” but I did.

“It’s written in your eyes Mike. And plus, you suck at lying. What’s the real reason?”

“Can’t you just trust I have a reason?” I asked then put the bottle back in the fridge.

“Ash! This is Abby,” Malia chirped and I internally groaned.

“It’s really nice to meet you guys,” Abby told us.

“You too,” Ashton replied.

“Are we still on for our ritual?” I asked her monotonely.

“Actually I’m going to have to bale. Abby and I have some catching up to do”

“Fine. Whatever,” I deadpanned.

I walked past and started up the stairs, “I see we have a mutual feeling,” Luke spoke suddenly, scaring me.

“What?” I asked.

“I’m not happy about Abby being here either,” he answered.

“Why?”

“I’ve never liked Abby. She’s also the girl who converted my sister. And besides, I don’t know what Malia sees in her,” he vented.

“So you’re not ok with Malia being gay?”

“Well…I guess in some ways I’m not. I mean I support it and I’m ok with it but she always brags about how many girls she could pick up if she wasn’t with Abby and shit. She’s just so cocky and it’s so annoying sometimes”

“At least you know she won’t make a move on your friends,” I said then internally slapped myself.

“I guess you’re right,” he chuckled. “I guess we’ll just have to bear it until she goes back home. Hopefully that will be soon enough”

“Let’s hope so,” I said then we went our separate ways.

I laid back on my bed and resumed my Twitter scrolling. Nothing was really going on as usual so I decided to migrate to YouTube. I had a few suggestions but I decided to re-watch some of Malia’s videos. I clicked my favourite, Blindfolded Make Up Challenge with Andrea Russet. It was their first collaboration between the girls and they’d done about two since.

“Alright guys. I hope you like our new looks,” Malia laughed.

“I’m so done with this makeup,” Andrea told her then got up and walked away.

“Please like and comment on this video. If you’re new here or haven’t already then make sure you subscribe. I love you guys and so does Andrea. Bye!” the video ended and I was giver more options.

“Michael!” someone called so I groaned before getting off my bed.

“What?” I asked from the top of the stairs.

“Come here,” Malia whined.

I groaned again before following her request, “yes?”

“What’s wrong? You seem mad,” she told me.

“And you only just noticed,” I muttered.

“Mike”

“I’m tired ok. I didn’t sleep well last night and I’ve been up since four so I’m not in the mood to deal with your shit”

“is this because of me?” Abby asked.

“No babe. Mike’s just getting a dick,” Malia said getting up and glaring at me.

“Whatever. I don’t want to have to deal with this right now,” I said the went to walk out of the kitchen.

“Come talk to me when you stop being an asshole,” Malia announced.

“Might take a while since you’re still being a bitch,” I replied then headed towards the stairs.

“What’s got you so riled up?” Cal asked.

“Fucking Malia,” I murmured.

“What’d she do?”

“She’s being her bitchy self”

“You were all cool yesterday”

“Well she’s been ignoring me all morning then baled on our usual Friday night ritual and didn’t seem to give a shit…or seem sorry”

“Mike; all you do is play video games and eat pizza,” he said wearily.

“Well it’s more than that to me. She may just see it as eating pizza and playing video games but to me it’s…” he looked at me expectantly but I shut down. “Never mind”

“Mike tell me”

“I said never mind”

“Mike”

“Just don’t Cal,” I said then started up the steps, two at a time.

“You look mad,” Luke pointed out.

“I am”

“Wanna play Fifa. I know I’m no where near as good as Malia but…”

“It’ll do,” I smiled at him then let him into my room. “So why don’t you like Abby?” I asked as he leant against my bed and I turned on the TV.

“She can be very rude sometimes. Like she’ll acknowledge you’re talking to her but just not reply. Then she takes up so much of Malia’s time and whines nonstop. She also has a bland sense of humour and is just no fun. Lia complains about it all the time but won’t end it. So I have to sit there and listen to her complain about her relationship which she can just end if she’s so unhappy”

“That actually makes a whole lot of sense”

“I just don’t like Abby. I’d rather see her with you or one of the boys”

“Whoa man,” I said.

But at least I knew he wouldn’t be mad if she was with one of us, hopefully me.
