...But You Can't Choose Your Family

*Akira POV*

"This place is so confusing!" Skull yelled out.

"Will you shut up, you're gonna get us caught." Panther whispered.

It was much easier sneaking around when Mercer was here since he pretty much sped up the whole trekking through the Palace cause he would just push through many of the shadows, I hoped he was alright, he had been gone for a while.

"How close are we to the treasure?" Queen asked.

"I think we're about halfway there." Oracle answered.

"I hope Mercer is okay." I heard Queen say under her breath.

We kept moving forward further into the Palace, slowly fighting our way through shadows.

*Your POV*

If this is what space stations are gonna be like in the future, I never wanna leave the planet, this place is a giant fucking sci-fi maze! I jumped up and grabbed onto a pipe and swung over to a nearby platform, I had been going through the smaller areas of the Palace, where I might possibly find clues to help out the group to get through but I wasn't finding anything, not even a key card or something.

"Time to change shifts workers!" I heard Okumuras voice say through the loudspeakers.

I could see all the robots shuffling around changing their shifts, if this is how Okumura saw his workers then he really was a terrible man who desperately needed a change of heart.

"Or we could just kill him!"

I pushed the voice out of my head, it sounded so familiar but I couldn't guess what it was. The voice had gotten more prominent and louder in my head, it had gotten me worried, I was trying to push it out of my mind and focus on everyone else, but I think Makoto was starting to notice, she had been asking me how I was feeling, despite me affirming her I was fine she seemed to push me to tell her, but I couldn't tell her that I was scared or worried, I didn't want to put more weight on her shoulders, she had enough to deal with her school duties and at home with her sister. I continued deeper into the Palace, moving past shadows and machinery that was all around the Palace.

*Makoto POV*

"Come Milady!" Noir shouted out.

It was incredible watching Haru command her persona, she seemed like a natural yet her persona had only just gained form recently. I just watched as the first line consisting of Noir, Mona, Skull and of course Joker, we were all getting more accustomed to working alongside each other, but with Haru joining she seemed to just increase the damage we could do as a group, whenever an enemy was afflicted with a mental debuff Haru would follow up with a Psi attack which would immediately dissipate the shadow.

"Is it just me or does anybody else wish the fights were longer?" Noir asked us as she leaned on her axe.

"Not particularly." Panther hesitated to say.

"Oh, well okay then." Noir said with a smile.

She seemed quite happy with fighting, it was starting to dawn on me that she was maybe a bit sadistic and enjoyed fighting a bit too much.

We finally had all the key cards we needed to progress deeper towards the treasure, I just hoped Mercer had found a way to get deeper, he was starting to worry me with how long he had been away for.

*Your POV*

Well for as reinforced as this place looked it was quite easy to break through, I just hoped nobody had noticed how many doors I had pulled open or how many holes were in the walls. I jumped across the divide of structures, I was lucky my powers let me breath in space...somehow, I got to the door leading in and like the rest before, it didn't open because I didn't have a key card. I cut a hole in the door big enough to fit my hands into then pulled it open, for someone who's Palace was in space his security was shit and easily breakable. I was just glad I hadn't come across another one of those DNA reading doors, that would be a pain in the ass right now.
