Get Up

*Makoto POV*

I could still feel his touch, so much had happened since I last saw him, Morgana had returned the same day as Akira was brought back from juvenile hall, it was quite an emotional time.

-Flashback-

"Since you came back does that mean that Y/N can too?!" I asked Morgana, my hopes getting higher.

"I don't think so, I was able to come back because you guys changed your cognition to include me in the world, but I had humanity from the hopes of the masses." Morgana told me.

"And Y/N said he sacrificed his humanity to save us." Ann said as she looked to me.

I sat back down, feeling defeated and a sense of loss again. "So he's really gone..."

Akira put his hand on my shoulder to comfort me.

"It's alright, he's looking down now and smiling." Haru told me.

I nodded my head and looked to everyone.

"Thanks guys."

-Flashback end-

I couldn't help but smile and chuckle at myself, I should've known from the beginning that he did everything to keep me safe and alive, and I loved him for it, I always will.

A knock came from my door and I heard Saes voice call to me. "Are you ready to go?"

"Nearly, just have to get dressed." I told her.

"Well be quick, you don't want to be late."

I heard footsteps moving away from door, I opened my closet and grabbed Y/N jacket and laid it out on my bed, I turned around and began to get dressed. Ever since the metaverse disappeared and I started wearing his jacket more often my whole dress style has changed, I was wearing more "punk and goth" style clothing as Ann and Futaba liked to frequently point out. (Pretty much her dancing in starlight clothing just with black skinny jeans instead of her normal stockings)

I put his jacket around me and pulled at the collar to get it fit to my neckline, it felt nice to wear his jacket, it felt like he was always nearby while I wore it. I picked up my bag and slung it over my shoulder as I walked out of my room.

"All ready to go?" Sis asked me.

"Yep, I just hope this trip doesn't end abruptly." I answered her truthfully.

That made Sae chuckle as she walked over to me and put her hand on my shoulders. I looked into her eyes as she smiled at me.

"Don't worry, I've set it all up, you've got your entire trip to look forward to." She told me as she tapped under my chin with her knuckle. "Now chin up, you look good in this new style."

I smiled and hugged her tightly.

"I'm gonna miss you." I told her.

"You'll see me soon enough." She said to me.

She brushed my hair behind my ears and pulled the hood over my head.

"I love you Makoto."

"I love you too Sae."

*Akira POV*

"Haven't forgotten anything have you?" Boss asked me.

"Don't think so, I just left the box of my clothes on the shelf." I told him.

"That's alright, I'll keep it here till you get back."

I took my journal out of my pocket and handed it to Sojiro.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about this thing." Boss told me as he put it under the bar.

"Thank you for everything this past year." I said to his as I put my hand out.

"Don't mention it, just don't come crawling back to me if you ever get into trouble again."

I chuckled as we shook hands then I walked to the door to exit and head to central square.

"Futaba said she would meet you there." Boss told me as he opened a jar of coffee beans.

"I'll keep her safe." I assured him.

"Good, now get going before you're late."

I nodded and we said out goodbyes again and I started on my walk to central square.

*Makoto POV*

Alright, so I know Sae bought this van on a budget but I didn't expect it to breakdown this early into the trip, we hadn't even left Shibuya yet.

"Well I can't say this is how I expected our vacation to start off." Haru said as she looked out the window, clearly bored.

"I'm sure we'll get going eventually." Futaba pointed out.

"I hope so." I said as I leaned back in the seat.

Ryuji slid the side door open and moved out to let Akira and Yusuke in.

"Sorry about the crappy parking job, the engine just conked out here." Ryuji told Akira.

"Oh okay, I thought it was just that Makoto needed some practice." Akira sarcastically told me.

I turned around in my seat and looked at Akira. "I'll have you know I can drive perfectly, I'd like to see you try and drive this old van."

"Maybe when we make it to the beach."

We all chuckled at him and Ann leaned out the window to talk to Mona.

"How's everything going Morgana?" Ann asked him.

"Fine, but why do I have to fix the engine?" Morgana complained.

"You were a car weren't you?" Yusuke asked as Morgana jumped into Akiras lap.

"Not the point, anyway, we're all good to go."

"So what was the problem?" I asked.

"Nothing major, just needed to borrow a plug."

I turned the key and sure enough the engine started up first try.

"Good job Mona-chan." Haru told the cat.

He looked pretty proud of himself as he looked at me from the rear view mirror, I merged back into the traffic and were heading towards the freeway out of the city. I looked in the rear view mirror and in the background of the crowd I could see a man standing and looking back to me in the mirror, even though he was wearing a leather coat and a fedora I could still tell it was him. I smiled and saw him smile back to me, September couldn't come quick enough.

*Your POV*

I watched as the van rounded the corner and left my sight, it was good to see everyone happy, and she does look really good with her new style. I looked down to my phone and opened up the photo I had taken with Makoto the night before, it probably wasn't the best photo to be looking at in public but nobody around me would care. I smiled and put my phone back into my pocket and stepped back into the crowd and began to walk back towards the train station when I got a call from an unknown number.

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"Hello Y/N." A female voice spoke to me.

"Sae?"

"I know you were here last night, we do have thin walls in this apartment."

"Right, sorry about that."

I could hear her chuckle over the phone. "It's no worries, I actually have a favour to ask of you."

"Anything to help out family."

"So I know you don't have your powers anymore, but I figured you'd still know how to sneak into off limits areas."

"Send me the location and what I need to do."

"You'll have information within the hour."

I hung up the phone and couldn't help but laugh, I guess I knew what I was doing for the next six months.

"Well at least I won't be bored shitless."
