The Truth Is Out

DededeDroid laid with Escargoon for hours. Escargoon had finally calmed down and went to sleep. DededeDroid left alone with his thoughts searched his mind for answers. Was he truly happy with Escargoon? He felt happy, but something felt off. The way those children spoke to him and Escargoon made him question himself. He was Dedede....right? If he was truly a robot like everyone said he was why did he have feelings for Escargoon? Robots aren't allowed to feel....right? DededeDroid's thought was interrupted by a loud noise and a rumble throughout the castle. Escargoon woke up startled before there was another crash. The castle shook violently as the falling of bricks could be heard in the distance. "Oh no.... we need to get out of here!" Escargoon yelled as he got up from the bed. DededeDroid lifted Escargoon into his arms and headed towards the door. "Poyo!" DededeDroid reached the door only to find Kirby calling him. Kirby then ran out into the halls of the castle with DededeDroid and Escargoon following behind.

Loud explosions could be heard throughout the castle as the walls slowly caved in. "We need to get underground. There should be an entrance in the throne room. I think we're under attack." Escargoon pointed towards the throne room as they all ran towards the doors. There was then a huge explosion as a missile made contact with the castle. A huge wave of energy sent them all in different directions. The throne room crumbled to the ground, debris everywhere. "No good. We're going to have to use the entrance in the fountain instead." Kirby looked worriedly at Escargoon but then nodded his head. They all ran outside into the courtyard. The damage to the castle was much more obvious from the outside. The walls were completely destroyed. There were various space ships barely visible due to the heavy clouds shooting missiles towards the castle. Many large monsters surrounded the area. The courtyard was full of them. The large monsters pulled their attention towards the group. They had sharp claws and large bodies and had an almost snake-like skin. They stared at the group before running towards them. DededeDroid immediately stepped in front to protect Escargoon. Kirby tried to find a way to copy an ability but was stopped by another one of the large monsters. They were surrounded. The monster slashed at DededeDroid, scratching his metal body. However, Escargoon saw something very different. His mind tricking him into seeing something much worse. Escargoon looked away trying not to fill his mind with grief. DededeDroid was petrified. All he could think of was to protect Escargoon. That was his highest priority. He felt no pain, but his heart felt something much worse than a few scratches. He needed to get Escargoon to safety. "RUN!" DededeDroid yelled. Escargoon looked DededeDroid in the eye before booking it to the fountain. As Escargoon was about to reach the fountain he tripped, sending him crashing into the ground. One of the monsters approached the tiny snail, claws sharpened and fangs bare. DededeDroid turned around in shock only for the monster to stab its sharp claws straight into the power module located on his back. DededeDroid felt a sensation in his metallic spine before a huge shockwave was sent throughout his body. DededeDroid then collapsed to the ground. "NO!" Escargoon screamed. Escargoon wanted to cry but no tears came out. The monster slowly approached him. This was the end.

Escargoon closed his eyes only to hear the clashing of metal and the scream of the monster. Escargoon's eyes fluttered open only to see a familiar masked swordsman. "Meta Knight...?" Meta Knight turned around. "You have to get inside. You'll be safe there." Escargoon nodded. He didn't want to leave DededeDroid but he had no choice. Escargoon ran towards the underground entrance and closed the hatch behind him. Meta Knight focused on the monsters. "I promised a certain someone to protect Dreamland from future threats once they were gone. So we must now do battle!" Meta knight charged towards the monsters swinging Galaxia with all his might. He slashed at the scaly beast until it stopped moving. "Sword, Blade!" Meta knight called to his subordinates. Sword and Blade entered the courtyard, both slashing at one of of the beasts. Sword Knight then threw his sword towards Kirby, who was still trying to escape the monsters. Kirby gleefully ate the sword and transformed into Sword Kirby. They slashed at the monsters until there weren't any left. Meta Knight sighed and looked at the broken robot. They picked up the metallic penguin and entered the fountain.

POWER UNEXPECTEDLY CUT.
REBOOTING.....

DededeDroid woke up to find he was surrounded by multiple figures. He recognized immediately Tiff, Tuff and Kirby. However they were also joined by three unknown individuals to him all hiding their faces. "Alright! What did you do to Escargoon?" Tuff yelled. "Tuff, hold on. Let me ask the questions." Tiff stepped forward towards DededeDroid. "So I'm going to ask some questions, and I want you to answer them okay?" DededeDroid stared at the small girl. "OKAY." Tiff smiles. "Good. Now first I want to ask about how you were made. Who is your creator?" "MASTER ESCARGOON." Tiff stepped closer. "Now are you a robot?" There was a pause. The room went silent. "YES. I AM A ROBOT." Tiff smirked and kept going. "Now, final question. Who is Dedede?" With no hesitation DededeDroid answered. "I AM DEDEDE." "No not like that. Tell me something about him. Who he is, what he's like personality wise." DededeDroid stopped. Who was Dedede? He knew he was Dedede but what personality did he even have? Who was he? Silence filled the room. "Exactly what I thought. The only thing that Dedede and him have in common is their looks. Now I'm going to ask again. Who is Dedede? DededeDroid stayed silent, unable to come up with an answer. "I DON'T KNOW...." Tiff sighed. "I think we found our problem. Listen DededeDroid, you are not Dedede. You were created to look like him. Dedede passed away five years ago. Dedede and Escargoon were married so he created you to keep him company. He was being selfish." DededeDroid took in all of what Tiff was saying. He really wasn't Dedede? A spark quickly entered his mind. "NAME: DEDEDE. OCCUPATION: KING OF DREAMLAND. STATUS: DECEASED." They were right. He wasn't Dedede. But did that mean he was lying to Escargoon? He didn't want Escargoon to be upset with him, he loved him. But if he loved him, would Escargoon ever love him back? He was a robot that looked like his husband. It would never work. And he already loved someone else. He had to tell him the truth. "I NEED TO TELL ESCARGOON." Tiff looked at the metallic robot. She was surprised that he was so understanding. A robot that was able to understand feelings. "Maybe Escargoon is a genius after all." Tiff thought. Meta Knight stepped towards the robot. "A robot that can potentially feel emotions. He built you well." Kirby walked up to DededeDroid, finally understanding who he was. He looked slightly disappointed. DededeDroid picked Kirby up in his arms and lifted him into the air. Kirby smiled and then started laughing. He didn't seem to care that DededeDroid wasn't who he said he was. "I think you should probably go talk to Escargoon now. But be careful, he's very sensitive at the moment." Tiff pointed towards a small room down the hall. DededeDroid nodded and started walking towards Escargoon's room. However, he turned his head towards the group. "THANK YOU, FOR HELPING ME FIND OUT WHO I REALLY AM." Tiff smiled.
