Kyle

Twenty minutes later and we're parked in front of Hotel Red. Opening the passenger door, I wait until Vi steps out before handing the keys over to the chauffeur. Placing my hand on the small of her back, I take us through the circular doors and down the stairs to the grand room where the party is held.

Even before entering I could tell how stunning the place was, given that the Rad party was hosted there every year. Walking through the large doors, we step into the already packed room. Multiple circular tables are draped with white and purple tablecloths and the center contained tall beautiful floral centerpieces.

An open bar with a full line is stationed to the left, a gigantic dance floor took the center of the room and huge glass windows made up the right side of the wall. The windows overlook the great lake that stretched from miles and showed the beauty of the city lights. There's also a door that leads to the terrace, allowing people to access the fresh air outside.

"Wow, this is extravagant," Vi says loudly.

I wink, humor in my voice. "You know doctors like to show off their money."

"Oh," she smiles a twinkle in her eyes, "you don't have to tell me. I've seen you order that large coffee every morning. Sometimes you even come back for an extra one in the afternoon."

"And I still have enough left to buy those yummy muffins you bake every day."

"You do love muffins."

I glance down observing her flawless profile. "I love everything you make."

"Thanks." Vi meets my gaze. "That's a compliment I will gladly take."

"Kyle, I was wondering when you'll get here."

I turn to the hoarse voice I know all too well. "I'm right on time Lucas."

He glimpses at his watch and points to it. "Twenty-three minutes late buddy."

I chuckle my expression light. "I didn't know you were keeping tabs on me."

"Someone's gotta keep you on track."

"Coming from the person who got wasted at the bar last weekend and couldn't drive home. You called me to pick your drunk ass up and then what happened after that?" I glare at him.

His eyes dart away avoiding contact. "I...Umm..." Lucas clears his throat anxiously.

Feeling a movement on my suit jacket I see Vi tugging on the sleeve. "What did he do?" she asks intrigue.

I smirk nodding in Lucas direction. "This so-call friend and coworker of mine threw up all over my precious car. My car is still at the shop being cleaned and it's going to take a handful of weeks before the smell completely disappears. I'll tell you, it's not fun driving 80 mph on the highway while your passenger is throwing their guts out."

Lucas runs his palm behind his neck his expression regretful. "Man Kyle, I apologize again. You helped me out that night by coming to get me and yet I did that to your car. Sorry."

Shaking my head, my right-hand lands on his broad shoulder. "Don't sweat it. I'm not mad at all and I'm glad you called me. I rather you be safe than drive home drunk. Also, it gives me the chance to take my Lexus out, I might have bought it, but I hardly drive it."

"Thanks, I appreciated the help." Lucas peeks at my side. "On another note, who's that beautiful woman by your side?"

Dropping my arm, I pull Vi closer, my back arching a bit straighter. A scowl runs across my face when I witness Lucas's lust-filled eyes roam over Vi's luscious curves before landing on her breast. He might be smiling innocently but I guarantee his thoughts are far from pure.
