A note to Carson: In the case, you somehow stumble across this book, rip your eyes. I'm not weird I swear. Anyways, if you are reading this I have a small message. I'm trying to put my Minecraft bed next to yours 👀

Working as an artist was difficult, I did make a few YouTube thumbnails here and there but work was hard to find. I had to move to a new apartment since I finally needed to work instead of relying on commissions.

I glanced around the new living space. It had one bed and one bath, a nice simple kitchen as well as a standard size living room. The floors were a dark colored wood while the walls were a grey with white border. Currently there was boxes everywhere full of basic living necessities as well as few decor items. I checked the time on my phone, it currently was 2:00pm in the afternoon. I began unpacking my room stuff so in case I couldn't finish I could at least fall asleep.

As I finished the last few boxes to my room I could hear lots of laughing, the odd thing was that I didn't ever hear another voice. I wanna know what they're watching to be laughing that hard, it seems fun. I went back to work as I listened to laughing and yelling.

I yawned seeing the time, 11:50pm. I stretched as I scanned the vast amount of boxes that still needed to be unpacked. I groaned loudly, I didn't start work until Monday. Currently it was Friday, I could stay up until I finished everything. Or I could sleep. I thought about it, however I knew morning me would appreciate an unpacked home. I jumped at a sudden shout I held my racing heart. Maybe I should let whoever know to keep it down, sike! I don't like confrontation, I'll knock on the wall.

I heard even more shouting and walked to the wall where it was the loudest. I simply knocked three times. I listened closely and heard the shouting quiet down. Then after a few seconds I heard knocking back. I knocked twice, and the person mimicked my knocking. The knocking between me and this stranger continued for a few more seconds. I then heard a muffled, "Yo me and my neighbor are communicating through knocking."

"C-can you hear me?" I asked.

"Yeah!"

"Uhm, do you think you can keep it down a bit?"

"Yeah for sure."

I nodded to myself. I walked away from the wall and continued my unpacking. It was getting hot despite the room being cold, I guess from all the unpacking. I grabbed a hair tie and placed my brown hair in a messy bun. I grabbed a box for the kitchen and decided to move it to the kitchen. All was going well, until one foot slid in an awkward way and I came crashing down. "FUCK!" I screamed out as the box slammed and a loud shattering echoed. I held my arm to my body after it was soaked down by the fairly heavy box. I heard fast knocking on the wall. I sat up rubbing my sore arm. I grabbed the socks on my feet and threw them aside, no more socks in the house. I stood up and opened the box. I sighed seeing my favorite mug now in pieces.

I was distraught by the broken mug I forgot about the wall knocking. Soon it turned to door knocking. I awkwardly limped to the door and opened it. I was met with a blue shirt, I looked up at a tall blonde man. I was only 5' 2", this dude was a whole foot taller than me. "Hey are you alright? I heard you fall and you didn't answer the wall knocking."

He must be the loud guy, "Oh yeah I'm fine, I slipped carrying a box. So you're the loud neighbor huh." I asked.

"Oh yeah, sorry about the racket, my names Carson."

"I'm Kate, glad to meet you. Anyways sorry for worrying you." I softly smiled.

"Did you by chance need any help unpacking? It's the least I could do for the ruckus." He said scratching the back of his neck.

" That'd be great. Come on in!" I said opening the door to invite him in.

He helped me and progress was a lot faster, we managed to finish unpacking within an hour. "So what do you do for a living?" I asked collapsing boxes to throw away. He threw a box in the box pile.

"I do live streams as well as make YouTube videos. What about you?"

"I usually work on thumbnails and art commissions. However, I'm getting a side job at a gas station to help pay bills."

We did some more small talk before we decided to call it a night. I thanked him for his help and we exchanged numbers. I closed the door behind him and just smiled to myself, a cute neighbor? Sign me up! I gathered the trash in a pile to throw out in the morning. I headed back to my room and crawled in bed. It wasn't until I was in bed did I realize I was exhausted. I decided to grab my phone and text Carson to thank him once again for helping me out. I almost instantly received a reply.

No problemo

My lips curled to a grin as I laughed a bit. I put my phone on the charger and crashed.
