Young Max wasn't all too happy to be in this sh*t hole known as "Camp Camp". But she couldn't help but smile once off the bus. She was glad to be away from the hell she calls home, but a boy by the same smile didn't take the smiling too well.

"Ah sh*t. It's another David," he commented.

"Welcome new camper! You must be Max Combs! Boy this will get confusing fast-" the said camp counselor began before getting cut off.

"No worries, I'll be out of here in no time," she responded which surprised both males.

The younger male couldnt quite make out what it was about her but she definitely caught his attention. Her clothes were tattered. Was she another Nurf? But she looks adventurous like Nikki. Just another one he has to put up with.

David, on the other hand, figured she needs to adjust. Maybe she's a troubled soul like Nurf and Max. Oh how on the nose he was.

By night fall Max picked up that Miss Combs didn't touch dinner or bother with s'mores similarly to him.

"So what the f*** is your problem?"

"That's probably someone's failed poison attempt if you're talking about dinner." She kept her cool.

By nightfall Max couldnt sleep. He had figure out what was up with this girl. So he snuck out of his tent and noticed a lamp on in her tent. He noticed that she was doing gestures as if talking to someone. Was she schizophrenic?

Not in the slightest!

"I gotta get out of here! Please get me. I can't stand this place. I got into another knife fight- C'mon! Wouldn't you come get me out as my da- damn it!" She huffed as her secret phone call ended.

Knife fight? Must have been Nurf but what's with her?, Max thought to himself.

As time had past he picked up on her lack of sleep and her sneaking out. He took note of some of the insults since the day she was caught with a pan of cupcakes. It was irritating so he set out a plan. Follow Max tonight when she leaves her tent- that is if she doesn't scream in the middle of the night and wake the councelors.

He couldn't say that he wasn't impressed by how she wouldn't take sh*t from anybody. She managed to make Nurf cry from retaliating. Wether that be in the form of physically hitting him or firing back insults. She truly fit in for the most part as if she were taking his place... Better than him actually. But he took a liking to her.

By nightfall he refused to sleep. When David and Gwen were in there rooms, he casually walked out of his tent.

Max woke up in her tent with a start. Another nightmare has kept her up. She couldn't handle sleeping alone. She didn't feel safe. She didn't know if her younger siblings were safe. So to calm down she decided to sneak out and head to the messhall, unknown to her follower.

She put in her earbuds and began listening to one of her favorite bands, Arctic Monkeys.

"Do me a favour~ and break my nose!~" She sang as she turned around and headed to the fridge.

What the actual f***?! Is this girl insane? Is she into getting hurt? Oh wait... She's singing to herself.

"Do me a favour~ and tell me to go away!~" she sung as she held out milk and walked to a mixing bowl.

One Max noticed the door opening into the kitchen while the other didn't. When she finally noticed she screamed and threw a cupcake she had made at David.

"Holy sh*t, David! You scared me!" She apologized in a sense.

"Max, what are you doing in here so late? How many cupcakes have you even made?" David couldn't help but ask in concern.

"I- I'll do work to pay for all I used up- but I gotta go sell these so I can-"

"I'm glad to see you passionate about something. You don't have to worry about anything. I understand you're someone who needs time. I'm glad you've grown to trust me some, but can you trust me enough that everything will be okay if you go back to bed?"

"No, it won't, David." She teared up. "It won't be okay. I'll have another nightmare. I'm not supposed to even be here. When camp ends I don't know if I'll even have a home to go back to. The breaks don't work on our mobile home. Who's gonna take care of my younger siblings?! Mom and dad are always- uh- busy! And- and-"

Max couldn't finish her thoughts. She clung to David and cried until she couldn't cry anymore as he comforted her.

"There there. I'm sure we can work something out." He quietly states as he puts pieces together.

She was bruised up when she arrived to camp.
She hesitated about her parents being busy.
She's worried about where she'll stay and how her siblings are.

Max then finally realized that he and the female Max shared the same feelings about their parents. He's not entirely sure what her story is but she must be suffering from some sort of PTSD. Her parents must be horrible! But he still cant figure out why David's hair triggered her.

That's one issue he'll never figure out during their camp days.

Years passed by now. The two Max-es were on their own paths.

Max sat down next to David. 17 and still going to this hell hole. "Hey David, did you ever figure out what was with that chick 6 years ago?"

"You know I cant talk about that, Max. She wouldn't give me enough information for me to really know the situation anyways. For all I know, she lived in a scary city," he responded as the two waited for the new camper to arrive. This time the camper didn't arrive in the bus. They arrived with the two new councelors in an old car.
David jumped to his feet and he greeted the trio.

As soon as the camper stepped out, she hugged David after a moment of confusion. How does David know her?

"We were just talking about you. Max, you remember Max Combs right?" David asked, the new male councelor frowned. He had a possessive feel to him that didn't settle well for the male Max.

"Damn Max, that's you? You've gotten so much bigger!" He forced his tone to sound sarcasted. He truly didn't recodnize her. Her body had matured very well and grown to be somewhat plump.

"Look at how healthy you are now!" David cheered.

"Yeah... I'm actually here because of one of my jobs and my friend Janice said she'd be a counselor to help me actually. The guy.... Just ignore him. He's always grumpy and serious. Uh- his name is actually.... James Dean Morgan!" She introduced the new counselors.

"Nice to meet you two! If you don't mind... Could I have some more information about what this "Job" is, Max?" David asked.

The chatter between Max Combs and David faded to the background as Max noticed "James" was glaring right at him.
Something isn't right with him and it seems camp may get interesting again.
