**YOUR POV**

The sun slowly faded around me. Pink rays of evening light were displayed across the vast forest I stood in the middle of. The scent of pine trees wrapped all around me in such delight. I have a special love for these scents of the earth, and I have a intense desire for the scent of my anchor. Even now. I breathed in deeply. (He hasn't left.) Yes, you're not wrong. I can smell him, even now. I stand about 80 miles away from him, but I smell him like he's right next to me. (I'll never get over him, I need to get back to him...) My thoughts turned to worry. I had now been away from him for far too long. (What if Vlad tried to take him from me again?! Ugh! How could I have not thought about this before?!!) My eyes turned red and I took off running. I ran through the trees, bursting through branches and kept going until I jumped straight off a cliff. My eagerness to get back to Colby was driving me enough already. As I fell through the sky and down the mountain side, my focus became far clearer than I felt in a long time. I closed my eyes. My body, my very being now felt..different. (I feel like I'm... FLYING??)
My eyes opened to see the beautiful sunset on the horizon.
(I'm a bat...) I thought as new senses overwhelmed me. I can feel the wind under my paper thin wings. The distant scent of a flowing stream crossed my path. Without hesitation, my head pointed down and I darted through the air like a bullet. My surroundings were quickly analyzed, swinging left to right, I slowly came down to the water. I landed perfectly on a rock just where the water could not touch me. Down here underneath the trees, it was dark. As this night fell closer, my sight progressively adjusted to the difference in light. What was once dark, was now bright as day. And bright colored flowers now looked dull and grey. (Night vision.) I can see in the darkness. (Ugh who cares!) I felt confused. (How will Colby see me? Will he find this alternate changed appearance repulsive?) I looked up to the sky, spread my wings and flapped up and away from the stream. (I need to get back...no more delays.)

*1 HOUR LATER*

(Oof! argh...gosh..I guess I gotta get used to this... After having flown so far as bat, now that I've stopped, I'm drained. I feel genuinely exhausted. Not like I can't still punch through a wall but magically drained pretty much. Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm magical, not gonna lie. Tehehe) My talons gripped deeply into a branch on the tree behind Colby's home. I looked up and hastily begun climbing up the tree, twirling around the branches so I remained upright. Climbing like this as a bat was unbelievably easy. (I hadn't realized this animal is practically designed for it.) I neared the end of one branch and peered into the backyard. Lights were on outside and inside the house, with two unfamiliar faces in front of me. One of them held a camera in hand and they both were speaking to it. (Huh..oh yeah they're vlogging! Like Jake does...hmm how should I get past them?) I looked above the taller one and noticed the door was actually open. (Oh I'll fly in.) I inched forward, ready to glide off the branch when suddenly the two men outside started running my way. I wasn't paying attention to what they're were running for but it spooked me as they came close. My wings spread open and forced me out of the tree and away from them. I quickly glided over their pool and down to the door. In a fast burst of wind, I flew into the home causing the door to slam shut behind me. I kept going and flew up to the corner of the ceiling and grabbed onto the wall in effort to not be seen.

Sam: woah what was that?
Colby: the door slammed...

I looked behind myself to see Colby and Sam analyzing where the sound came from. All I wanna do right now is fly right into Colby's arms but I can't. (I should change back but where?) My head turned left and right scanning the room from upside down. (There isn't anywhere to go now without being seen...)
