Chaeyoung was flustered when she realized that she was looking fixedly at Jungkook and him looking back at her. Then they shared silent goodbyes and parted ways. But when she was about to close the gate, she hurried back outside and serenely looked at Jungkook until he was already out of sight.

Unable to go to sleep, Chaeyoung thought about calling Jungkook. But before she can make the call, Jungkook beat her to it.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

“Hello!” She answered.

“Did I wake you up? Or did I disturb you or anything?” He asked while trying to figure out what to talk about with her.

She softly laughed. “No! You did neither. I was actually having a hard time going to sleep.”

“Why? Is something still bothering you?’

“No. I already told you I’m fine.”

“Yeah. Sorry again. I was just making sure.”

“It’s okay.”

“By the way, I heard about this café just a few blocks from our building. My friend told me that their cheesecakes are really tasty. Would you like to go there sometime next week?”

“Really? Um, I would love to. But I won’t be at the office the whole week next week. I’ll be going on a business trip.”

“What is your business trip about? And why do you have to be away so long?”

She laughed, “Now you just sounded like a clingy boyfriend.”

“Did I? Sorry! I did not mean it like that. I was simply curious. You don’t have to tell me though, if you don’t want to.” He said, trying to not to stutter as he made up excuses for his previous statement.

Did I really sound that way? Ugh!

She explained, “As part of our CSR program, we are going to visit rural communities to donate furniture sets to schools and to the elderly in those communities. We’re also going to conduct a few seminars. I was one of those who were picked to represent our team.”

“You already sound so busy just by hearing you narrate your schedule next week.”

“Indeed, I am anticipating a busy week next week.”

“I see. When will you be back?”

“On Friday.”

“Then let’s meet the day after, on Saturday.”

“Why?”

“I’m taking you out.”

“Shouldn’t you ask me first if I’d agree on meeting you or not?”

“Nah! Asking will only give you a chance to agree or decline my invitation.”

“Because that’s how it’s supposed to be?” She answered, dumbfounded at his way of thinking.

“I know. But I’ll meet you either way.” He answered, trying to sound confident. “Anyway, are you still going to come by the office before you leave on Monday?”

“Whatever! And no, we are meeting somewhere else. I actually don’t think I’m stepping foot in the office next week.”

“Is that so?” Jungkook sadly verified.

Teasingly, Chaeyoung said, “Yup! Are you going to miss me?”

Without hesitating, Jungkook answered honestly. “I already do.”
